Yes , you can join Osmania University .

But there are very less admission from GATE .

If you are from cs/it then joining will be easy . But you are from ECE , but it is not difficult to get opportunity .osmania university has very good placements record for CS/IT branches .

JNTUH is far better than OU  , But it is littel bit hard to get admission with your marks . As it depends on categories.

You must know that admission in Osmania University or JNTUH is done done done on the basis of JEE mains score.

The admission to these BTech courses is made through Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET).

In 2019 the cut off was as follows for JNTU, Hyderabad for SC category

• EEE: 11617
• ECE: 8621

CBIT

• ECE: 10741
• EEE: 16778

Considering this you need to secure rank within 20,000. So to secure such rank you need to score 80-90 marks and you must have 550 or above marks out of 600 in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in first and second year. But cut off in 2020 changes depending on number of candidates appeared, difficulty of exam etc.

You need to score rank below 10,000. Candidates belonging to any category who secure rank below 10,000 rank will get free seat. For such rank you need to get 120-140 marks in TS EAMCET. You have not mentioned your course of interest. JNTU, Hyderabad offers B.Tech, Integrated B.tech+M.tech, M.tech, M.Sc and MCA. Admission in B.tech and Integrated degree is done on basis of EAMCET, admission too M.tech is based on merit in GATE or TS PGCET, for admission in MCA you need to appear in TS ICET and for admission to M.Sc is either on merit basis in qualifying exam or in the entrance exam conducted by JNTU, Hyderabad.

Cut off depends on various factors like number of candidates appeared, difficulty of exam, number of seats available etc. In 2018 the cut off for JNTU, Anantapur for CSE was as follows category-wise

• BC-A: 4424

• BC-D: 7233
• BC-E: 14990
• SC: 15885

Depending on your category you need to secure the rank but as said earlier cut off depends on various factors and it may increase or decrease.

In terms of rating and ranking JNTUH, Hyderabad is on the forward position, all the facilities are provided by both the Universities but gym facility is not given in osmania University, JNTHU is having good faculty ratio than osmania University and student feedbacks of JNTHU are much better than osmania University not only for placement but also for campus life too, so overall JNTHU is better option for B.Tech Chemical engineering.
