Hey Meghana, Its good that you are trying for JNTU Hyderabad as i understand its the best college that lies in TS EAMCET.
There is no cut off mark as such, but there are several departments in JNTU Hyderabad which has a cut off rank under 2000 and it varies from year to year, in general you can interpret the domain within which you can secure a rank by looking at the cut off ranks of previous years.
As I have had the glance through the previous year results there is fair chance for you to get into the depatments of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and you can surely get into Chemical Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering.
For more information you can also go through the seat matrix which is available online.
All the best Meghana, feel free to ask any query!
Hi Rohan,
For EAMCET is Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test , there is no special minimun marks usually the quqlifying percentage marks will be 25% of maximum marks for ranking i.e.(40 out of 160). Generally, for the candidate belonging to schedule cast and schedule tribe, there is no minimun qualifying marks.
By the way please mention the stream you want to take admisssion into so that I can clarify your doubt.
Hey Satya.
See the marks u have scored is not that much enough for u to get admissioned in the good courses offered in the mechanical stream by the JNTU for pursuing ur higher studies. The only course u will be getting is ENGINEERING DESIGN.
U should be opting for other state colleges and private institutions for ur MTECH career. I m providing u a link for help.

Hi Gouthami
Inorder to get MBA seat in JNTUH the only option is to write TS ICET and get qualified in it. the rank must be in 3 digit. if you are OC the cut off will be below 300 rank. the caste reservation follows as per the rules of the ICET.

Hello Sathish,
Congratulations on your result. It's a very decent rank. Considering the cut-throat competition in the GATE, approx. 7.85L people appearing for the exam, 14740 AIR is not a bad rank and if converted to percentile, it looks pretty impressive too.
Your percentile: 100-(14740/78500*100)= 98.122%ile
Sure enough, you're now a legit qualified GATE applicant.
On the side note, the best benefit of calculating your percentile: these numbers would look good down in your achievement section when you'll present your resume because it means you have performed better than 98.122% of people who appeared for the exam that year. Sounds impressive, right?
Anyway, coming back to your question...
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Hyderabad, which was formerly known as Nagarjuna Sagar Engineering College, is a public university that is located in the newly formed state of Telangana. The admission to all the courses is done on the basis of various entrance tests conducted by the university.
There are two ways to get admission in JNTUH for MTech programme:
Karnataka PGCET is a state-level entrance examination organized by Karnataka Examination Authority. It is conducted for admission to MBA/MCA/M.Arch/M.Tech/ME and (lateral entry) of MCA program.
Let's compare the number of people who appeared for the exam last year.
And there had been 88.99% of candidates who cleared the exam. While PGECET is a state-level examination, the preference for admission in AP universities is given to GATE qualified candidates. This exam, which is always conducted after the GATE results, will have plenty of candidates who would also want to take admission in JNTUH but most of the seats are grabbed by GATE rankers.
The point is, your competitors for a seat in this college are all GATE candidates. That's bad because you may be ahead of 99.211% of people, but you're still behind 14739 candidates. Even if you assume and remove the first 1000 candidates because those candidates either decided for PSU recruitment or IITs/NITs, and another 700 because they wanted to study abroad, there are still 13039 people who are looking for admission in some other colleges, including JNTUH which is a reputed one itself. Against that, you have a rank that wouldn't necessarily get you a seat here.
But let's not lose hope yet.

I believe this will give you a good idea about your chances as well as an idea about the competition you're likely to face to get a seat in any of the 4 constituent colleges. Based on the cutoff, you have good chances at getting admission at least one course in JNTUH, but it can't be said for sure as the cutoff changes every year based on many factors.
'First come, first serve' should help you have an upper hand in this situation.
I hope this helps.
Hello Mahesh!
Gate cutoff for JNTU, Hydrabad varies every year. Though for Mechanical Branch applicants the cutoff goes anyway around 5000-5500 for Open Category. It is highlly advised to stay alert for notifications from the university as there would be plenty of aspirants.
All the Best!
The college has good infrastructure. The classrooms are clean and spacious, with proper seating and ventilation. The library has many books and a quiet place to study. Labs are well-equipped with the necessary tools for practical work. There is Wi-Fi on campus, and computer labs are also available. The campus is green and well-maintained, with places to sit and relax. Hostels are decent, with basic facilities like clean rooms, water, and food.
It is a spacious college with good labs, library, department, medical, etc. The college provides a cricket ground, basketball, football, volleyball courts and even a separate complex for indoor games. Hostels were good and food quality was also good in both mess and canteen.
College infrastructure refers to the physical and technological facilities available on campus, such as classrooms, libraries, labs, sports facilities, and hostels. A good infrastructure supports a better learning environment and overall student experience. It includes modern amenities, proper maintenance, and accessibility for students and staff. A college with strong infrastructure helps in providing a comfortable and efficient space for academic and extracurricular activities.
