you will have to opt for float to get higher opted colleges , slide option is to change the branch in the same nit or iits , i think because of that you had no change in your allotment procedure, please read the instruction given in the JOSAA

i also had this issue when i applied for colleges. sorry to say but you can not go down the preference list. you can not choose the college below the allotted college. you can still call the institute or exam organizers to confirm, though it wont change anything but

See if you belongs to Telangana and holds the domicile of Telangana then you won't be considered for Home state quota for NIT Andhra Pradesh because now Telangana is a different state but yes being a domicile of Telangana you are eligible for Home state quota of NIT
