If you consider last year cutoff then in 460 you can't get NIT trichy for MEchanical Engineering, considering General as mentioned.

For Industrial Saftey Engineering the lowest score was 490 (approx) and this time there are chances that it will increase.

This is a very special courses which exist only on NIT Trichy. So placement wise surely you will get opportunities from core companies itself. There are companies which comes specifically for this department. So no need to worry about placement.
