It sounds very difficult for you to get into Sastra university on basis of the 31 percentage of marks, and many colleges don't accoey board makrs below 75%. I would advis you to look out for other colleges, and maybe into more private ones.

In SASTRA for B.Tech admission both your 12th percentage or CGPA and JEE Main percentile will be considered.The weightage given to JEE main percentile is 25% and the remaining 75% will be given to your 12th board marks.The SASTRA rank will be calculated and based on these parameters

I think you do have very good chances of getting a seat in SASTRA university. SASTRA marks is calculated based on( for stream 1) (0.75*boards percentile)+(0.25*mains percentile). Going by these calcualtions , I think you can get a good rank and will be called up earlier.
