Hi,
In terms of education and support provided by faculty (mainly in research ) it provides good infra and more over it's better than few Nit's not all . SASTRA has just recently started earning its name as one of the top private engineering colleges in India. Compared to the NITs (which are well established and renowned worldwide). So it depends on course, and branch you are taking.

Hello Shilpa,
It will be quite difficult to get CSE in Sastra University at this rank because it depends on number of applicants for a particular branch. You should look for other branch also like Information Technology, Electronics and Communication as these branches are also good in future aspects. Also keep looking for other colleges as well  if you only want CSE branch.
Try our new >>College Predictor<< to know about more colleges you can get on the basis of your rank in JEE Mains.

Hello Akshay!

It is tough to get seat in Sastra University with your mentioned percentile as the cutoff stays very high almost above the cutoff of JEE MAINS that is 2 lakhs rank. You must look for colleges in special round counselling(if conducted).

Hope that helps!

Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy, known as SASTRA University, is a private university in the town of Thirumalaisamudram, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 1984 in the form of Shanmugha College of Engineering which is now renamed, Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy [SASTRA]. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research  courses in multiple streams such as Engineering, Science, Education, Management and Arts.

SASTRA university admissions is based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination. In case of B.Tech, M.Tech and Law courses, scores obtained in national level examinations such as JEE Mains, GATE and CLAT respectively, are also considered for admission.

B.Tech: JEE Main+ 10+2 merit (for 70% seats) and 10+2 merit (for 30% seats)

So solely JEE mains doesn't matter you need your 10+2 marks too to qualify for SASTRA university and CSE being most demanded branch of SASTRA University you need to be among the one on the top of there rank list.

Sasta University give admissions on the basis of sastra rank stated in their merit list. The rank is calculated on the basis of your 12Th percentage as well as your jee mains score. Though your 12th percentage are very good but your jee main score is very poor so your sasta rank would be badly affected by it. There's no particular cutoff released by the University but according to previous year cutoff trends your chances are low to get any core branch in the University. I would suggest you to look for other colleges.
Hope it helps.
Thank you.
