Both Tezpur University (TU), Tezpur  and Gauhati University (GU), Guwahati the B.E/B.Tech admissions are based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains score. As of now out of four sessions only two sessions of JEE mains are conducted there are still two more sessions left and due to the ongoing pandemic the two sessions are postponed. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet declared the new dates for JEE main. Unless all the sessions are conducted and the results are declared the admission process in Tezpur University (TU), Tezpur  and Gauhati University (GU), Guwahati will not start. Keep an eye on the official website of the colleges for the latest information.

Chances are low since 82 percentile means you can expect a rank of about 1 lakh 30 thousand to 1 lakh 50 thousand.So chances are bit low cause according to last year's cutoff mechanical engineering was obtained at a cutoff of about rank 47,605.and obviously streams such as electrical,ECE are obtained at a much lower rank.However you can still get ME if you are SC,ST at a rank of upto 97,000 and above.However cutoff changes from year to year and you should sit for counselling.

The admissions for post graduate courses in Tezpur University for the academic year 2021-22 has not yet started. It is expected that the application process may start in the month of April 2021 but it is almost the end of April 2021, it might get delayed by a bit amidst corona crisis. The eligibility criteria to get admission to M.A Linguistics and Language Technology a candidate must have passed Bachelor‘s Degree in Major/Honours in Linguistics/English/any other allied Subject with minimum 45% marks from a recognized board. If candidate does not have Major or Honours degree in the above mentioned subjects then he/she must have passed in the above mentioned subjects with minimum 50% marks from a recognized board. As you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria you are not eligible to get admission in the preferred course in Tezpur University.
