Fees Details
Annual fee is Rs. 80,000/-; Semester-wise fee to be paid in two equal semester wise installments of Rs. 40,000/- each at the beginning of each semester (for new admissions, last date of fee submission is mentioned in clause no. 20). The annual fee is the same for full-time and part-time candidates.
Caution Money: A sum of Rs. 5,000/- will be charged from each student seeking admission to the University in the Academic Year. The amount is interest free and will be refunded to the students at the time of withdrawal or at end of their Programme, whichever is later, after deduction of dues, if any.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electronics and Communication Engineering is an offered Full-time three/six-year Doctoral program and it is offered by The NorthCap University, Gurgaon. Ph.D. programme shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.

Admission Process
The minimum eligibility criteria indicated above for each Programme is only an enabling clause. The concerned School Doctoral Research Committee (SDRC) may fix higher criteria at the time of short-listing keeping in view the number of candidates, minimum background expected to cope with the Programme etc. Candidates in the final year of their Master’s Programme, who expect to complete all their qualifying degree requirements before the date of registration for the first semester of their PhD Programme at NCU can apply for admissions.
The candidate desiring to seek admission to Ph.D. Programme at NCU shall apply for the same on the prescribed Application Form 1 by a due date announced by NCU. The applications will be scrutinized by the concerned School Doctoral Research Committees (SDRCs).
Candidates who do not have valid score in national tests like GATE, UGC-NET and SLET will have to appear in Entrance Test named ‘NCU Ph. D. Entrance Test’ (NPET) and will have the following weightage of various components for admission: NPET marks 50% , Qualifying degree marks – 30%, and Interview –20%. Candidates who have valid score in the above National tests shall be exempted from NPET. Eligibility Criteria
A candidate seeking admission to the PhD Programme under School of Engineering and Technology (SOET) of NCU must have obtained:
- M.Tech. /M.Phil. /M.A. (English) degree with min. 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent
- M.Sc./ M.A (Maths) degree with min. 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent, with NET/GATE/JRF qualified or M.Sc./ M.A (Maths) with min. 67.5% marks in aggregate or equivalent
- B.Tech. degree from IITs with min. 67.5% marks in aggregate or equivalent.
The candidate should have passed Postgraduate degree with the related subject from any recognized College or University.
