Yes of course, summer semester are ment for that purpose only. But you will have to pay extra for you accomodation and mess charges(around 10000), apart from that, it is 6000 per subject(approx).

I would suggest you to complete the backlogs in the summer semester as it will be too hectic for you to cope up with the usual subjects of the next semester as well as the backlog subjects. Moreover the credit limit per semester might also be a problem.
