There is no lateral entry programme inorder to take the admission in VIT after your diploma courses. Only one way is there i.e through VITEEE which held every year for intake of students in undergraduate courses offered by vit.
But don't worry , still many other good colleges

I got 27000 rank in VIIT ,should I get Mechanical Engineering in VIIT vellore

For getting into VIT Vellore , you need a rank way lower than this. This might help you getting Mechanics or any branch in Chennai VIT.

Yeah you have better chances to get a CSE at Vellore campus but if you can't able to take then join IT department that is also good. But make sure one thing nitin always try to take the branch at main campus only that will give you benefits

You can get Mechanical, Civil, Production and Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, Automobile Engineering, ECE branch at VIT Vellore Campus and also, you can get ECE, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, ECE at Chennai Campus in B.Tech.

my son's rank is 18668, it is good rank to get computer engineering in any of the vit campus

For a cse branch its really high rank you cannot get in chennai and vellore campus but you can get other branches like ece eee mech in chennai and vellore campus. Particularly if you want means you need go for Bhopal and amaravathi campus

College Infrastructure

Vellore Institute of Technology has a really nice infrastructure with clean classrooms, labs, library and hostels. Wi-Fi is only available for 20 hours as it gets switched off around midnight. Campus is big and nice, but it can get crowded. Hostels are very hygienic as they get cleaned daily.
