VIT vellore offers scholarship to meritorious students. If you have a good rank or marks in the engineering you are eligible for the same. The scholarship is primarily to support meritorious, yet needy students to complete their education by providing financial assistance.

If you have secured a good rank in their engineering entrance exam under a scheme called the GV School Development Programme (GVSDP). State and Central toppers will have their tuition fee waived off for all four years. Moreover, two toppers from government schools in rural areas will be awarded a 100% tuition fee waiver, plus exemption from hostel and mess fees. Students who have secured VIT Rank 1 to 1000 will have a certain percentage of their tuition fee waived off.

The class 12th boards marks are only considered for eligibility. The admission to various programmes based on the marks obtained by the candidates in VITEEE. Dual degree courses allow you to pursue two degrees simultaneously, which has certain benefits:

1. If you consequently find out that you are not interested in one of the degrees, you can choose to pursue the other one. There’s always a backup in case you just don’t see yourself working with the former degree in the future.
2. Two degrees mean you get to gain more knowledge! If your degree A complements degree B, which usually means that there is use or application of degree A in degree B and vice versa, then you will have a significantly better understanding of both the subjects, which is an awesome thing in itself.
3. And EVEN if it doesn’t necessarily have an application, you have a chance of having a slight edge over other single degree students during placements if the minor, degree B, puts skills in you that will be useful no matter what company you join, like Economics or finance related degree.

As far as the placements are concerned, dual degree placements are quite good at VIT (Vellore campus). I would suggest taking dual degree at Vellore campus only.

Jagna Anna Vidya Deevana scholarships scheme  introduced by the Andhra Pradesh government to encourage the poorer section student for higher education. This scheme includes full reimbursing of fees, exam fees any kind of fees included in education. Student whose family income ceiling 2.50 lakh. Eligibility Criteria for VIT Master's entrance examination(VITMEE) is as follows

1) Candidates should have graduated with a full-time degree from any recognized University/Institute with a minimum aggregate of 60% or Ist class for MCA and M.Tech. degree programmes.

2)Consistent Record in X and XII Std is required.

3) Candidates appearing for their final degree exam / final semester exam in the current year are also eligible to apply.

Candidates should have completed their final Semester/year exams before the selection at VIT.

Placement Requirements: Industries offering Placement at VIT have stipulated a minimum of 60% Marks for candidates

in their undergraduate programmes and in class X and XII. Maximum of 2 years of academic gap is permitted.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

1)The applicants should apply online or mobile app in the respective link provided in the website (www.vit.ac.in) by

paying a non-refundable application fee of Rs.1200/- (rupees thousand two hundred only) (Including GST).

2)The applicants should register for VITMEE, a Computer Based Objective test at indicated test centres. The list of short-listed candidates will be published in the website or personal SMS will be send to the registered mobile number for online counselling.

3)Short-listed Candidates will be asked to choose the preference of campus and branch. Selected candidates will have to pay

an advance payment of Rs. 1 lakh. Candidates who fail to pay the advance before deadline, will not be considered for admission.

However this year VITMEE was cancelled because of the pandemic and the selection was based on undergraduate scores of the students.
