      College of Nursing CMC, Vellore Admission Process

      The College of Nursing, Vellore, still stands as an eminent institution that offers a range of nursing programmes. For this reason, the college is approved by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and offers courses that accord with the approval of the Indian Nursing Council (INC). Admission into the college entails selecting qualified candidates for all the nursing courses offered at the College of Nursing. Eligibility depends on the type of programme. In the case of undergraduate programmes such as B.Sc. Nursing, the general requirement for eligibility is completion of 10+2 in the relevant subjects.       The steps involved in applying for the College of Nursing, Vellore, are:

      College of Nursing Degree-Wise Admission Procedure

      The college provides 20 full-time courses.

      College of Nursing B.Sc Admission Procedure

      • B.Sc. Nursing: This is a 4-year undergraduate course, with an intake of 100 new students admitted each year on the basis of the 10+2 results, along with any additional parameters that the college may decide.
      • Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: This programme, which is of 2 years' duration, enrols 50 students. Generally, the admissions to the course are meant for those registered nurses upgrading their qualifications.

      College of Nursing GNM Admission Procedure

      GNM (General Nursing Midwifery) is a 3-year diploma course, taking in 100 students. Likely to admit students on the basis of 10+2 results and additional specific criteria set forth by the college.

      College of Nursing M.Sc Admission Procedure

      The specialisations in M.Sc offered by the college are Medical Surgical Nursing (10 seats), Community Health Nursing (5 seats), Paediatric Nursing (5 seats), Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing (5 seats), and Psychiatric Nursing (4 seats). College of Nursing admission is based on the performance of the candidate in the bachelor's degree course and any other tests or interviews conducted by the college.

      College of Nursing Diploma Admission Procedure

      This college offers various post-basic diploma specialisations, each for 1 year, such as Critical Care Nursing, Emergency and Disaster Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Oncology Nursing, etc. Each of these has an intake of 15-20 students.
