B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering is a full-time four-year duration course affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantpur Approved by AICTE.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was established in the year 1991. The CSE department started with a modest intake of 30 students in the year 1991, and IT program was started in the year 2000 with an intake of 40. Over the years it has grown by leaps and bounds and presently offers B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering course with a sanctioned intake of 180 students and B.Tech in Information Technology with a sanctioned intake of 60 students. The department is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi for three years in the year 2004 and re-accredited by National Board of accreditation for three more years in 2007 and IT program was accredited for the first time for three years in the same year. The department also offers a P.G course in Computer Science and Engineering with an intake of 18. The department is recognized as a research centre to offer doctoral program in CSE department.
The sanctioned intake in a branch of engineering, 70% of the seats is called Category – A seats or Convener seats. The remaining 30% seats are called Category – B seats or Management Quota Seats. Admissions for Category – A seats are conducted by the Convener, EAMCET Admissions through web counselling based on the EAMCET rank of the candidates and the rules of reservation for admission into professional colleges in Andhra Pradesh. B- Category seats are filled by the Management of the college following the guidelines stipulated by APSCHE, Hyderabad.
For Diploma Holders- Of the sanctioned intake in a branch of engineering 20% seats as supernumerary seats are allotted to Diploma Holders for admission into II Year B.Tech directly. Admissions into II Year B.Tech through lateral entry for Diploma Holders are conducted by The Convener, ECET(FDH) Admissions through web counselling based on the rank obtained by the candidates in ECET(FDH) and the rules of reservations.
Candidates who have passed two-year Intermediate Examination conducted by Board of Intermediate Education or its equivalent with not less than 45% of marks in the prescribed group subjects i.e. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) are eligible for admission.
