Government Engineering College, Jagdalpur Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has excellent residential facilities to cater to the needs of more than FIVE HUNDRED students. There are two Boys' hostels. Each hostel has T.V., Sports Items, water coolers, and well-equipped mess facilities. Hostel inmates must join the mess in his / her hostel, managed by a committee of student representatives. All hostels have independent messes where vegetarian meals are available. All residents have to bear the wages of the mess cooks, servants, helpers, and cleaners. Other staff are provided by the Institute.

The College has a medical facility that gives its students the comfort of seeing a doctor on campus when sick. Qualified doctors take the utmost care to restore their patients ' health with appropriate treatment. All the staff and students of Government Engineering College, Jagdalpur, have regular medical checkups and can avail free medicines during illness. 

The College has a gymnasium equipped with all the standard machines, which help to enhance both body and soul in the students. As it’s said, “No pain, no gain”, we here properly guide the student to develop their physical strength and also encourage pushing their limits so that they can become strong enough to withstand any tough situation in life. Besides full-body routine workouts, sometimes we also conduct yoga with meditation sessions to purify the internal soul of an individual.

The College has a Library facility that includes a rich source of books to gain knowledge and awareness. The library has a collection of magazines, journals, reference books, and other periodicals. The books cover all the major streams of engineering, English language, applied science, and humanities. The library has a serene atmosphere to support effective learning. The book bank caters to the needs of all students by issuing the respective semester books to all students.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students. All computers have net access. In addition, each student is provided with internet facilities on their laptop so that they can take advantage of available study materials.

The College has both wired and wireless internet connectivity. Apart from classrooms, Wi-Fi connection extends to common places such as hostels, libraries, lawns, laboratories, and staff quarters. Through this, students can have access to the study materials anywhere on the campus. They can also access various journals, research papers, and reference books. 

The College has Sports at the college are a very important activity in students’ lives in college to enhance not only their mental ability but also identify his/her physical capabilities, which makes them confident to work and adapt to any situation in personal and professional life. For that, our college is equipped with both indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

The college has a department-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The College has successfully provided employment opportunities to our students with proper guidance, and we are acting as a gateway to the corporate world. All the placement-associated activities are handled by the Training and Placement Cell (T&P Cell) of the institute. The T&P consists of the Internship Cell, Entrepreneurial Cell, T&P Officer, Faculty Members, and student volunteers working around the clock to provide the best possible services to the visiting organizations. 

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has the National Cadet Corps, which is the Indian military cadet corps with its Headquarters at New Delhi. It is open to school and college students, voluntarily. National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization that recruits cadets from high schools, colleges, and Universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course, but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on their achievements in the corps.
