Government First Grade College, Shikaripura (GFGC Shikaripura) is an old institution established in the state of Karnataka. It offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The admission process here is quite simple and is mainly based on merit, and is lenient enough to allow for candidates from different backgrounds.

The academic calendar for the admission cycle is generally in accordance with the state university of Karnataka. Normally, the application process begins in the months following the declaration of the 12th standard board examination results. Application Process

The GFGC Shikaripura application process is simple and includes a normal set of steps:

1) Announcement of Admissions: The college announces the commencement of admissions through its website and local newspapers.

Degree wise Admission Process

BA Programs: GFGC Shikaripura provides six specializations in the BA, namely combinations of History, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Optional English, and Optional Kannada etc. The admission criteria is only based on 12th std marks, specifically on those subjects that are relevant to their specialization. 

B.Sc Programs: The college offers three different B.Sc. specializations and they include Physics-Chemistry-Mathematics, Physics-Mathematics-Computer Science, and Physics-Chemistry-Electronics. They all are on a competitive admission basis subject to the marks scored by the candidates in 12th standard examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications): Based on the marks obtained in 12th standard, with students having studied either Mathematics or Computer Science being preferred.

BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration): The BBA admission process is based on the combined performance in the 12th standard, with weightage given to Mathematics and Business Studies subjects.

B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce): Students are selected for the B.Com program purely on the basis of 12th standard marks in areas relevant to Commerce.

BSW (Bachelor of Social Work): Admission to BSW is based upon overall performance in the 12th standard, emphasizing specific social science papers.

MA Programs: GFGC Shikaripura offers an MA in Economics and an MA in Kannada. Admission requires a BA in the relevant subject or a related subject. The selection is generally made on the basis of marks secured in the undergraduate degree.
