Government Medical College and Hospital at Karur, which is popularly known as Sri Krishna Medical College, aims to impart quality medical education through the National Medical Commission (NMC). It also follows guidelines on medical education within India.
GMCH Karur also follows this pathway for admission into its programmes: the students must meet the national standards imposed for all medical colleges across India. Thus, every candidate aspiring for this space must have taken the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). An eligibility test seeks to probe knowledge possessed by students in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
The academic session of GMCH Karur starts in August-September, and the admission process usually kicks off several months prior to this time. Tracking the NEET exam for aspirants is important since it is usually held sometime in May or early June. The result is announced in July, after which the counseling and admission processes begin.
Application Proces

Registration and Examination with NEET:
Either through the official website, register for the NEET examination.

Medical Examination:
Medical examination as indicated by the college.
Degree wise Admission Process
MBBS: GMCH Karur is presently running just one course, i.e. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). This degree is full-time and extends for six years thereby giving a professional qualification in medicine. The authorized seat capacity for MBBS, according to the College, is 150; thus, it will eventually churn out many medical professionals in a year.
Admission into the MBBS course will be done purely and simply based on the NEET score of the candidate. Since the number of seats to be awarded is limited, admission to the MBBS program is quite competitive. Candidates assaying NEET with goodmarks may enter the method of counseling for seat allotment.
The eligibility criteria for MBBS admission include:
Completion of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
Qualifying score in NEET
Minimum age of 17 years on December 31 of the admission year
