GMC Bharatpur Admission Process

Government Medical College, Bharatpur (GMC Bharatpur) is a premier institution of government establishment for medical teaching. The institution is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is renowned for the quality it delivers in medical education. Medical programs offered by GMC Bharatpur comprise undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with five basic courses across all three degrees. Admission to GMC Bharatpur is based on merit and is very competitive. For admissions into undergraduate programs, NEET-UG is used for selection, while for postgraduate programs it is NEET-PG.

For the flagship course, the MBBS program, admissions are entirely based on NEET-UG score merit, making it among the larger medical colleges in the region. Admission into the MD and MS postgraduate programs will be through NEET-PG. Specialized programs offered in this college are MD Community Medicine, MD Pathology, MD Microbiology, and MS Anatomy. 

Application Process

The application process for GMC Bharatpur differs for schemes:

For MBBS:

  1. Appear for the NEET-UG examination.
  2. Qualify NEET-UG with a valid score.
  3. Register for the state counseling process (since GMC bharatpur is a state government college). 
  4. Fill up the choice filling form during counseling, and enter GMC Bharatpur as a preference college.
  5. If allotted a seat, report to the college for verification of documents and formalities of admission.

For MD-MS Programs:

  1. Take the NEET-PG exam. 
  2. Pass NEET-PG with qualifying marks.
  3. Register for the state or central counseling, as applicable.
  4. Participate in counseling and select GMC Bharatpur with the course chosen.
  5. Complete the process of taking admission by submitting required documents and paying admission fee in case a seat is allotted. 

The generic documents required for admission are:

  • NEET score car
  • 10th and 12th grade mark sheets and certificates
  • MBBS degree certificate and mark sheets (for PG courses)
  • Valid ID Proof
  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Recent passport-size photographs

Degree wise Admission Process

MBBS: The Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery program at GMC Bharatpur has a seat capacity of 150 students. Admission into this program is entirely dependent on the performance of the particular student in the NEET-UG examination. An aspirant must have qualified in the NEET-UG examination to be eligible for admission.

MD Community Medicine: This postgraduate course has a total available of 6 seats. The admissions are done on the basis of NEET-PG, and the candidates must have an MBBS degree from an accepted college to get eligible.

MD Pathology: The college has 3 available seats for this specialized postgraduate program. The admission to the program depends on the NEET-PG score, and applicants have to possess an MBBS degree.

MD Microbiology: This program also has 3 available seats. To be eligible for admission, candidates need to qualify NEET-PG and should have completed their MBBS.

MS Anatomy: For this surgical postgraduate course, there are 2 seats in the college. Admission is NEET-PG based, and the applicants should possess an MBBS degree from some recognized university.
