Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Dental Sciences (JNIDS), Imphal, is relatively a newer dental institution that aims to provide quality dental education. The institute adopts a merit-based admission process for its premier program, Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). The admissions to JNIDS are conducted based on the merit of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG), India's primary entrance examination for dental programs.
The admission procedure of JNIDS is typically as per the timeline of NEET-UG. NEET admission procedure of succeeding session will be from 6th February 2025 to 6th March 2025. The student has to provide the NEET-UG examination, i.e., the first preference factor of admitting the BDS course in JNIDS.

Degree wise Admission Procedure
BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery):
BDS course at JNIDS is a full-time five-year course, which is the main academic program of the institute. BDS admission is merit-based on NEET-UG marks only. BDS course will provide students with general theoretical knowledge and practical skills in dental science according to Dental Council of India norms.
The admission process to BDS is as follows:
1. NEET-UG examination passing with marks of or more than the cut-off announced by JNIDS.
2. Counseling process admission, where seats are allotted in accordance with NEET-UG rank and vacancy.
3. Documents verification for establishing eligibility criteria.
4. Fee payment and admission in case of successful allotment of seats.
The JNIDS BDS program facilitates an intake of 50 students per annum with scope for creation of an atmosphere of quality and directed learning in dentistry.
To enter the college you have to crack the NEET exam and then inside the college study is like any other medical college but here strictness is maintained and attendance of the student is also priority students are exposed to pre clinical works and from 3rd year they are sending to postings in various departments.
