The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is established in the year 1974. The department has come a long way since its inception, keeping pace with the changing needs and expectations of society. The department takes pride in its highly placed alumni all over the globe. Though it is younger in comparison to the other conventional branches of the college, the department has always been on a high growth path. At present, the department is running a full-time UG program in Electronics and Communication Engineering, two full-time PG programs in Digital Systems & Computer Electronics (DSCE) and Digital Electronics & Communication Systems (DECS) specializations and a part-time PG program in DSCE besides Ph.D. degree program in emerging areas of relevant technology.
The department has experienced and dedicated faculty who work with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. The right blend of experienced and young faculty is ensuring dynamic activities in the department. Some of the important areas of research in the department are:
To keep pace with the current technological trends, the department offers a well designed, constantly reviewed syllabus to its students. The department conducts workshops, symposia, student and faculty development programs regularly to give the much-needed exposure to the students and staff on the latest developments in the area of electronics and communication. In addition to the regular classroom teaching-learning process, the department also promotes self-learning through the student organization, Electronics & Communication Heuristic Organization (ECHO). We ensure that the qualities inculcated will make the students not only as good engineers but also as good human beings.

The candidate seeking admission into B.Tech. The course shall have passed the Intermediate Examination of AP State Intermediate Board of Education or equivalent examination with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry as main subjects and must have secured a valid rank in the EAMCET Examination conducted by APSCHE. The seat allotment is made by the Convener, EAMCET as per the stipulated rules of A.P. State Government and APSCHE.

Only some particular departments have proper facilities..One more thing that is to be mentioned is in some departments there is no even drinking water.And there are no smart boards in case there we haven't seen yet.Haa living spaces are clean and food is some what hygenic
