KCGMC Karnal Admission Process

Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College (KCGMC), Karnal, is a prestigious public medical institution in Haryana, which conducts Undergraduate and Postgraduate medical courses offered by the college strictly merit-based through the national-level entrance examinations. The college follows an equal opportunity admission procedure that allows equal opportunities for all eligible candidates.

For the Under Graduate portion, all eligible aspirants apply KCGMC through NEET-UG. The process for conducting applications usually opens in February. This examination happens just once a year. For the next academic year, NEET applications are expected to be held from February 7, 2025 to March 7, 2025. Candidates will sit for NEET-UG and then undergo the counseling process to secure admission into MBBS.

Postgraduate admission is taken through NEET-PG. The NEET-PG counselling date for the next session will happen from February 20 - February 28, 2025, for the stray round of reporting and joining.

Application Process

The application process as prescribed by KCGMC is based on the programme:

For MBBS:

1. Register for and take the NEET-UG.
2. For MBBS admission, apply through a centralised counselling process once the NEET-UG results are declared.
3. Participate in the counselling rounds as allocated according to your rank.
4. If selected, report to KCGMC for document verification and admission formalities.

For MD Programmes:

1. Register for and take the NEET-PG examination.
2. After the NEET-PG results are declared, apply through a centralised counselling process.
3. Attend the centralised counselling rounds based on the merit list.
4. If allotted a seat, report to KCGMC for document verification and admission procedures.

Degree wise Admission Procedure

MBBS: KCGMC opened the 120 seats for MBBS course, which is its most important program. Merit list for the final admission is drawn according to NEET-UG scores in conjunction with a centralized counselling process. Candidates must fulfill minimum eligibility criteria set by the National Medical Commission, besides having completed the 10 + 2 course with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as core subjects.

MD Courses: Various MD specializations are offered at KCGMC to include:

  • MD Anatomy (totaling 4 seats)
  • MD Microbiology (totaling 4 seats)
  • MD Biochemistry (totaling 4 seats)
  • MD Physiology (totaling 3 seats)
  • MD Forensic Medicine (totaling 2 seats)
  • MD Pharmacology (totaling 2 seats)

Admission for all MD programs is conducted on the basis of NEET-PG. Candidates must have MBBS degrees from a recognized institution and complete the eligibility criteria formulated by the National Medical Commission.

You cannot appear in NEET exam if you have not submitted the online application on or before last date successfully.You cannout appear in this year as you have not applied but if you are willing to appear next year you can apply for it provided you must fulfill the eligibility criteria.Now, you have not mentioned your state but there are colleges offering B.Sc nursing and it depends on your interest and financial ability to join in a college.Here is the list of colleges offering B.Sc Nursing which you may consider to get admission

The eligibility is that a candidate must have passed 10+2 with Biology, Physics and Chemistry.You need to score minimum percentage as specified by the college.

Well there is possibility that you might get a government medical college seat but it will aslo depend on a lot of things like your category of application and also your state rank. But it seems that it will be relatively okay for you to get a seat.
