Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Automobile Engineering is a four-year full-time undergraduate program recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and offered by the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram.
Preparation of common Merit list and Allotment of seats: Subject to any orders that may be passed by the courts, admission will be on the basis of marks obtained for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/equivalent subjects in the qualifying examinations. The marks obtained for the qualifying exam will be subjected to the normalization process as explained below:The marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by various Board or authority shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students of various Boards in each subject shall be equated to the highest mark obtained by the students of the Kerala Higher Secondary Examinations and the candidates marks will be normalized accordingly.
(a) Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Computer Science/Bio-technology/Biology put together are eligible for admission.
(b) Candidates who have Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations, or an examination recognised equivalent thereto, by the State Board of Technical Education after undergoing an institutional course of at least 3 years, securing a minimum of 50% marks in the final Diploma Examination are eligible for admission to the special reservation quota (DE) as shown in Clause 5.2.9.
(c) Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or examinations recognised as equivalent thereto, with 50 % marks in Mathematics/Biology separately, and 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology put together are eligible for admission to the seats reserved for Dairy Farm Instructors of Dairy Development Department for B.Tech. (D.Sc. & Tech). However, the candidates admitted to the course have to take a make up course in Basic Mathematics (2+0) credits or Applied Biology (1+1) credit as the case may be.
