Worst place to study, if looking for overall development

Posted on 23 Dec' 18 by Bhushan Vijaysingh More

Worst place to study, if u r looking for ur all round development then don't even think of taking admission in this college. No auditorium, not enough books in library, pathetic sports ground, no big event is organized in this college, college spends very little for development of students. Also u won't be able enjoy your college life. The area is not at all a study environment. Every other you will be disturbed by the activities around you even during exams. The staff is not upto date, half of them teach in Marathi so it is problematic for people coming from other states. The college funding for Baja and robotics is poor. The college takes a lot of donation and fees but still it is not upto the mark. Very few extra curricular activities. The director will ignore your complaint mails. The staff is not at all supporting, everyone is selfish and concerned about their own work, no proper mentoring of students. I repeat don't take admission in this college ever, I am regretting my decision, even after having very good marks I chose this college which proved to be a terrible mistake.

MITAOE a Autonomous Engineering Institute

MITAOE is one of the few engineering institutes which has been granted autonomous status by the government. I was being thr from 2008-2011. Mechanical Dept. Started in 2006. During my tenure Dept. Was having lack of basic amenities. By d time they have improved lot. Academic culture is good. The staff is good. Plenty of opportunities in extra curricular activities eg. ROBOCON/SAE BAJA. "MIT" stamp make this institute stand outstanding in placement area. Fees are on higher side. Strictly no-no to the hostel as it's very costly. Overall good to opt for.

It is a nice college in pune offering engineering courses. Placements are grafually increasing year by year..e.g in 2013 highest package was 9 lacs , in 2014 it was 12lacs, and now in 2015 it went to 15lacs so,this college is improving at a good pace, but still average salary is constant from the past few years (3.2lacs). As heard, mechanical engg. of MIT colleges is the best. Placements of mechanical , E&TC, computer is good. Now lets discuss about the campus life: Campus life will not be so amazing because of its small campus. Shorts are not allowed in the college. College management is rather strict in every aspect, especially in discipline. Advantages: campus is well maintained , thumbs up for the cleanliness.college is located in alandi ,indeed the perfect place to study ...away from the buzz of the city. Infrastructure is good. Teachers are experienced and punctual. If you want to get good marks, you have to be in the good books of the teachers. Placements are held at MIT main campus but if you didnt got placement there you can sit in placement round 2 ...held at MITAOE alandi..which is very good..but unless you are eligible. MITAOE prayag Hostel is one of the best hostels in INDIA..no doubt in it. All facilities are provided In the hostel. Staying in hostel will surely give you a pro life full of experiences. Disadvanges: no proper sports ground, they own a very large land for sports ground but is not maintained. Attendance is very strict. Hangout places are 20 kms far from college. No non-veg zone is the other name for alandi :p ..but yes you can get non veg food after travelling 2 or 3 kms away from the temple. If you want to experience each phase , the good the bad and how to adjust in life, then it is the perfect place for you.

Part of the MAEER's group, college is ISO certified. Campus is located at Alandi in outskirts of Pune. Infrastructure of the college is adequate and with dedicated labs and separate Mechanical Workshop, The college offers Mechanical, Computer, IT, EE, EEE branches. The college does offer post-graduate programs for some branches, it is still not available for core branches (check this fact) College has a play ground but is too small and management is still trying to procure a decent big enough playing ground for the college. The college sports events are conducted on college grounds but only limited sports are played. Hostel: College Boy's hostel is one the best I have seen in Pune University offering adequate luxury and fast internet. Girl's hostel however is not so. It is divided among many small residential complexes all near the main campus because of which quality of accommodation varies. Teaching: Teacher student ratio in college is abysmal. Teaching staff baring the HOD’s is mostly in-experienced but sincere. Staff is young and supportive also. Student: Being a sister branch of the prestigious MIT does attract some good students but most of the students are of sub-par level meaning if you want to excel , you have to prove yourself and stand out among the herd. Apart from individual branch student association, there are no active hobby clubs and student associations. College conducts a national robotic competition, college fests, technical fests and all the various events one expects from college. Placements are conducted mostly from the main branch. To get placed, the college’s student has to compete with students from all the branches of MIT Engineering College and I have found they lack the necessary skills to make difference meaning that most students do not get placed (on-campus). Conveyance: It is available for teachers only and management is trying to extend the service for students too since the inception but has so far failed. Verdict: It has all the dazzle and prestige of being part of such an elaborate group of colleges but little is seen on ground in terms of student’s talent growth. I do not think College education, or any education, just means percentage on mark sheets but given the pedigree this college enjoys, one would expect more from students and management.

One of the good colleges for engineering

Good facilities for students. equally equipped library with a good reference papers section. Mechanical Engineering staff is good and helpful. Teachers are a bit narrow minded when it comes to attendance, but then again most teachers in India consider that a student must attend every class even if he has no interest in that class. Simply to say in sober words, we Indians emphasis on the matter of attendance and marks but never care for knowledge that we impart to our students. But overall, Teaching faculty is very good at their job and some teachers actually manage to make the students interested in their subject. Placement was OK. Again as we put up criteria like average first class throughout and stuff, so many like me never got a chance to interview for the core mechanical companies even though our knowledge was the same as class topper. But again this is not a problem just at MIT, but a overall problem that we Indians love our marks and grades and don' give a bad about the knowledge we have. The review good enough for you?
