The Narayana Dental College and Hospital (NDCH) at Nellore is a reputed institution for dental education. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate dental programs that have been approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI). NDCH retains a processing merit list through which the deserving candidates are accorded admission into the programs. Admission listings at NDCH usually go parallel with entrance examinations at the national level. For admission to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery or BDS program, the admissions are conducted on the basis of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, or NEET, results. Generally, during the month of February, application procedures for the NEET examination begin, with the examination conducted in May. For postgraduate studies, NEET MDS scores are the basis for admission into MDS courses.
The BDS entrance eligibility includes the passing of 10+2 and compulsion of subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. On the contrary, for MDS, graduation must have been offered by a reputed institution as their BDS degree. Eligibility criteria concerning each course of study may vary, and hence potential candidates are advised to refer to the official NDCH website for comprehensive information. NEET is the only entrance examination for BDS admission. It shall have concepts from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from the 10+2 level. NEET MDS will be conducted for MDS programs, in which the knowledge and skill on BDS will be centered for candidates. Preparation must focus on a thorough understanding of the syllabus and consistent practice with previous years' question papers for these two exams.
