NIE Chennai Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

NIE Chennai provides Hostel facility to the Boys. The Hostel Rooms are allotted to the students on the First Come, First Serve basis. All the Rooms are well furnished and are equipped with all the basic amenities. The is a provision for the Water Cooler, Common Hall with Television and Refrigerator. Indoor Games Room, Reading Room and Gym facility are also available in the Boys Hostel    

National Institute of Epidemiology provides Hostel facility to the Girls Students. The Hostel Rooms are well ventilated and are well furnished and are allotted to the students on the First Come and First Serve basis. An Indoor Game Room, Reading Room and Common Hall with the facility of Television and Refrigerator are available in the Girls Hostel.

National Institute of Epidemiology has a well equipped Laboratory for Public Health Training and Advanced Research activities in the field of Epidemiology. The Epidemiology Training Lab can accommodate 25 trainees at a time. The Laboratory is equipped with advanced and modern equipment.

National Institute of Epidemiology has a modern Gym which is equipped with all the exercise equipment and machines. 

National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai has a Library which has a rich collection of Books, National and International Journals and other Documents in the field of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Diseases, Social Sciences, Clinical Trials and other related areas. The material collection is completely computerised and is in the process of being converted into a Digital Library. All the Books in the college Library at National Institute of Epidemiology are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme of Library Classification. The College Library provides access to the E- Resources consortium. The other facilities of the college Library includes a Reading Room, Computers, Audio Visual Zone, Discussion Room, Internet, Barcode Laser Scanner, Colour Television, Laminating Machine, Locker facility and Reprographic facility.  

The Computing and Information Science Division of NIE Chennai is a well equipped Computer Laboratory which has a state of the art technology for data management. The Computer Systems are installed to facilitate data collection, storage and analysis. 

National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai has a Canteen which serves meals to the students at a reasonable price. The college Canteen has a seating capacity of approximately 120 people.    

National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai has a Centralised Air Conditioned Auditorium which has a seating capacity of approximately 75 people. The Auditorium is well equipped with a good Audio and Video system. NIE Chennai also has a Conference Hall which has a seating capacity of approximately 45 people.  

National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai provides various indoor and outdoor games and sports facilities to the students in the college campus. 

NIE Chennai has a Guest House which is located in the college campus with modern facilities. In addition to this, there are Eight A/C Double Bed Rooms and a Common Dining Room available in the college campus for the VIP Officials.
