Bachelor of Technology(B.Tech) in Electronics and Communication Engineering is four years full-time undergraduate engineering course offered by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
As per AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) norms, 70% students of UG programmes admitted through centralized admissions organized by the Government (EAMCET for UG). The remaining 30% of students (B-category, i.e. Management/NRI) are admitted by the institution. An advertisement is given by the institution in popular regional newspapers calling for applications for B-category seats. Merit list is prepared from the applications received, placed on the notice boards. 20% of the seats for lateral entry admissions for diploma holders into the second year are made by the convener, E-CET.

A Candidate for admission to the four-year degree course in Engineering must have passed the Intermediate examination (10+2) of the Board of Intermediate Education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as subjects or any other examination.
