PK Das Institute of Medical Sciences (PKDIMS) Ottapalam, in the state of Kerala, is a prestigious medical college that offers a comprehensive PKDIMS admissions process for several medical programmes starting from MBBS right through to postgraduate courses. PKDIMS is affiliated to the Kerala University of Health Sciences and is also recognised by the National Medical Commission. PKDIMS admission process is always based on merit. 

PKDIMS admissions into undergraduate courses are mainly on the basis of NEET-UG scores, whereas NEET-PG is the entrance for PG courses. PKDIMS also ensures accountability and fair admissions in accordance with the regulations set down on medical education.

PKDIMS MBBS Application Process

  • Appear for NEET-UG conducted by NTA.
  • Register for state counselling (85% state quota) or management quota counselling (15% NRI quota).
  • Complete and submit the application form with correct information about yourself and your studies.
  • Upload scanned copies of all necessary documents such as NEET scorecard, mark sheets of 10+2, and required certificates.
  • Pay the application fee.
  • Candidates should attend the counselling process as per the schedule notified by the authorities.
  • If awarded a seat, candidates should report at PKDIMS for verification of documents and complete admission formalities.

PKDIMS Application Process for MD/MS

  • Qualify NEET-PG conducted by the National Board of Examinations.
  • Register for the centralised counselling process for postgraduate medical admissions.
  • Fill out the PKDIMS application form for the desired postgraduate course.
  • Submit necessary documents, including MBBS degree certificate, internship completion certificate, and NEET-PG scorecard.
  • Pay the required application fee.
  • Attend the counselling process as scheduled by the concerned authorities.
  • Complete the admission process at PKDIMS, including document verification and payment of fees, if selected.

PKDIMS Eligibility Process

Minimum requirement needed to be applicable for MBBS admission is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as the subjects and English as one of the languages. Along with educational qualification, minimum age criteria and NEET UG score above cutoff also need to be proven. For PG courses, eligibility will require completion of the MBBS from a recognised institution and, of course, a passing score in NEET PG.

PKDIMS MBBS Admission Process

PKDIMS offers entrance to MBBS based on a total of 200 seats. PKDIMS admission is done through NEET-UG held by NTA. NEET rank, caste, and seat availability are employed for rounds of the counselling allocation. The programme has vast syllabi and advanced facilities at PKDIMS.

PKDIMS MD Admission Process

MD General Medicine: A two-seat PG course with admission via NEET-PG and subsequent counselling. Candidates must be MBBS graduates and must have completed the compulsory internship period to be eligible.

MD Pharmacology: Admission is based on NEET-PG marks and counselling. PKDIMS has 2 seats for MD Pharmacology.

PKDIMS MS Admission Process

MS General Surgery: There are 2 seats in the programme of MS General Surgery. PKDIMS admission is conducted based on NEET-PG; selected ones are based on NEET-PG performance and counselling.

MS Otorhinolaryngology: There are 2 seats available for PG specialty at PKDIMS. Selection will mostly be based on NEET-PG like all other PG programmes.

PKDIMS Documents Required

The following general documents are required for admission:

  • NEET score card (UG or PG, as applicable)
  • Mark sheets and certificates for classes 10 and 12
  • For PG courses: MBBS degree certificate and marksheets
  • Internship completion certificate (PG courses)
  • Caste / Category certificates (if applicable)
  • ID proof and address proof
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Other documents as required by the institute or applicable regulatory bodies.
