Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences, Perumthuruthy Admission Process

Thiruvalla, Kerala, where the Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences (PCDS), is identified as one of the best institutions in quality dental education. The college is accredited by the NAAC and is considered to be founded by the Dental Council of India (DCI). Admission for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses is conducted in a very organized manner and by merit. PCDS offers 7 kinds of dental programs under two degrees BDS and MDS. Admissions are mainly derived through national-level entrance examinations. The admissions to BDS are done based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test that is mostly referred to as NEET. Likewise, the NEET MDS scores are accepted for admissions into the MDS programs.

BDS admission eligibility criteria include obtaining at least a 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. Application Process

The application process for Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences is different for the BDS and MDS programs:

For BDS Program:

1. Qualified in NEET.

2. Join state-level counseling as PCDS is a private college from Kerala.

3. Fill in the application form for PCDS, available on the PCDS website or at the admission office.

4. Submit all required documents, including:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets
  • Proof of date of birth

For MDS Programs:

1. Qualified in NEET MDS.

3. Fill the application for PCDS MDS, available on the PCDS college website or at the admission office.

4. Submit all required documents, including:

  • NEET MDS score card
  • BDS degree and mark sheets
  • Internship certificate
  • Registration certificate from the State Dental Council
  • Category certificate (if applicable)

5. Pay application fees as mentioned by the college.

6. Attend counseling for shortlisted candidates as per NEET MDS rank and merit list.

7. Seat allotted, complete admission, including documents verification and payments.

Degree-wise Admission Process

BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery): A total of 50 seats are available for the BDS course. Admission is based on the NEET score and is for a duration of 5 years, whereas the total fee for the complete course is Rs 1334000. Candidates should have graduated in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and should qualify in NEET to be eligible.

MDS (Master of Dental Surgery): For the MDS Programs, there are 14 seats across different specialties:

  1. MDS Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge - 3 seats
  2. MDS Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics - 3 seats
  3. MDS Periodontology - 2 seats
  4. MDS Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery - 2 seats
  5. MDS Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics - 2 seats
  6. MDS Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry - 2 seats

The NEET MDS score will determine the entry to all MDS programs. The duration of all MDS programs will be 3 years with a total tuition fee of Rs 3,600,000 to complete specialization. Candidates must have finished their BDS course and qualified in the NEET MDS to be eligible.
