Rose, you haven't mentioned your Category. There are Government Medical Colleges and Private Medical COlleges that are available in Maharashtra State Counselling. The 85% State Quota and Private Colleges are filled by the respective State Authorities. For GMCs, if you belong to General Category, you will need more than 600 and it is 550 for Reserved Categories. And there are 3 Categories in Private Medical Colleges. Category A is the Government Quota Seats. And only candidates of the home State are eligible to apply for these seats. Here for General Category students, the cut offs will be atleast 575 and for Reserved Categories, it is usually 525. B Category seats are also called Management Quota Seats and they are filled through State Counselling and here you will need atleast 500 for General Category and 450 for Reserved Categories and the remaining seats are filled through direct Admissions by contacting the College directly. Here the fees is usually nothing less than 40 lakhs. The last Category is NRI seats Category and you cannot apply for that. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam.
