48 MonthsThe B.Tech Electrical Engineering (Smart Grid Technologies) program at the UPES School of Advanced Engineering prepares students for the transition from conventional power systems to intelligent, automated, and sustainable energy networks. The program builds a strong foundation in core electrical engineering—including power systems, electrical machines, power electronics, control systems, and protection—while developing specialised expertise in smart grids and modern power infrastructure.
Students gain exposure to smart substations, microgrids, distributed energy resources, energy management systems, demand response, grid automation, and cyber-physical security. Learning is reinforced through labs, simulations, industry-oriented projects, and internships, enabling students to work with SCADA systems, smart meters, communication protocols, and grid simulation tools relevant to real-world power networks.
