Its fine. it all depends on you what you want from life ..college won't do anything.... placement is ok.. academics are not very strict here.. linency is top of everything.. so you can lot of time to do your work...and if you are a computer science engineer here so..you know everything is available on the internet so you need not worry about anything if something is not being taught in college..

Studying in This college is like no exposure no buisness trips nothing just exams and not at all helping lectures no practical knowledge and the hostels are worst in time for both girls and boys are different. That is not good plus the mess food and the wardens are worst.

I learned more about life and about myself outside the class

From my college experience, I hope to gain many things. Obviously college is a time that students can truly become individuals. When I attend college I will have the opportunity to become more independent and to take on new responsibilities. I have always relied on my parents for support, but at college I will be on y own an will have to push myself harder. This will help me to become more mature and will help me grow in character. Right now I have a fairly accurate idea concerning what I want to do with my life. Yet, I am also aware that I may change my mind several times before I begin a career. College will introduce me to new and various things, an I will develop new interests from this exposure. During my high school years, I have been very involved in school and community activities. In college, I will also be exposed to new clubs and activities. Involvement in extra events has provided a balance for rigorous course study. With the pressures college brings, I will probably want to be involved in many groups. I hope to find a balance between my studies and my social life, and I hope to offer my leadership qualities to my college community.......

College life is good here but placement cell is not much active. They should call more companies.industry exposure is very poor. Hostel life is also good there. Faculties are highly educated there. they should do improvement in placement. infrastructure is damn good. in winters it becomes heaven.Overall a very good experience as a student. I will recommend this college.

Infrastructure is awesome and we have so many session where experienced leaders from industries come for guiding us for the career. Experience at college was very nice and it has given us the never ending memories. The bond with this college is forever. I am presently preparing for further exams so at present I am on my preparation break. Hostel life has so many parts, sometimes the stress of studies and exams and sometimes enjoyment of the time with friends.

Straight from the heart

College of Engineering Roorkee is a private engineering college around 6 kilometres away from IIT Roorkee. Although its quite near IIT Roorkee but it has no trait whatsoever of an engineering college. The college used to get good crowd till the year I took admission i.e. 2012 but even that has stopped lately. The college management will do every possible thing to ruin your life(I'm not exaggerating). The present Director General tries his best to make things better but the college has actually become hopeless. The administration cell staff behaves with you like they are all ministers of something. They handle the most important things of students like their marksheets and character certificates. They can never give you the marksheets when you need it. Does'nt matter if you need it urgently for examinations like GRE or for admission to a post graduate programme after you pass out. So, the college will haunt you even after you pass out. The college has put fake placement data on its website which is something condemnable. There's no infrasture because the trustee of the college is suffering huge losses as his chief business is on the verge of bankruptcy. So, there's no placement too.

Seems like COER can't be trusted blindly on the name it has

The image that the college holds as one of the finest private engineering colleges in Uttarakhand, has changed a lot over the years and not in a good way. Where other colleges have shown rapid growth and improvement in the quality of education as well as other aspects, COER on the other hand, seems to have seen a decline in its quality of education, faculties, placements as well as other recreational activities. With many good faculties and staff having left the college, the placements have been deeply affected. The college life apart from the academics is pretty good with a lush campus to hang around in and provides a decent interactive medium through the various events and technical & cultural fests organised by the different committees of college. But that again has seen a gradually declining inclination on the cultural front. Having lived in the hostel for 4 years, I can say that I wasn't disappointed with the accommodation facilities, though the mess food is something I would really not like to comment upon! All in all, if we are looking for a good engineering college that would serve to our technical knowledge and provide an all round development, (I hate to admit)but COER doesn't seem to have been doing too good in the recent years! So if we are capable enough, I suggest we can go for other options (with same or greater affordability) that seem to be doing far better than COER.

A Good College with great environment

The college of Engineering Roorkee is situated on the outskirts of Roorkee city, 7 Km on the Roorkee - Haridwar highway. The college has a huge lush green campus which provides a sense of freshness while learning. There are various committees in the college like Linguistic committee, Cultural Committee, Literary Committee, Technical Committee and placement committee which conducts various events from time to time to maintain the fun factor in the campus. The most happening and lively place in the campus is the cafeteria which not only provides you refreshing snacks but it also serves a variety of food items to keep your taste buds satisfied if you need a change. The placements at the campus are increasing every year with college gaining popularity. I myself was placed in Infosys for a decent package. I was also selected in Indian Navy which visited the campus for selections but due to health issues was not able to join it. College faculty is highly qualified and very helpful. The Annual inter college Cultural fest is extremely popular and sees a major participation from students of multiple colleges. Various other events like Dandiya nights, Technical Fests, sports and other activities help to enjoy and learn at the same time. The college is situated in an area which has multiple tourist destinations around, for students to plan trips with friends and create memories of a lifetime. To summarise, everything , 4 years of life at COER(College of Engineering Roorkee) helps you to transform from a school boy to a graduate who is ready to take corporate challenges.

COER is an engineering college that comes under Uttaranchal Technical University, Dehradun. Earlier the college was very good but as the years have passed the reputation of college has decreased. The Hostel facility at COER is above average. Recreational Activities and College fests are also good. But the thing of main concern is below average placements. It can be thought of a school after school where attendance and uniform are compulsory. Rest the college is good but PLACEMENT scenario is poor.

When I took admission in COER, I thought it is like a college that is shown in movies. But the reality is totally opposite. Compulsory attendance, Uniform Code and Outpass System make it all the more like a school. In terms of studies and academics, the college is goo. Hostel facility is also good. But the placements are not up to the mark. Extracurricular activities and sports facilities are also up to the mark. I 'll advise you to join this college only if you are planning to do post graduation. Cheers

This is not a college, it is a school. actually, worse than school. it gives no freedom to students. there is a more than 6ft. the tall wall between the boys and girls hostel. Girls are not allowed outside their hostel area after 6 pm. 75% attendance is compulsory. all the students are actually studying in a jail, not a college.

The journey that started with all the dilemmas and undeclared destinies of 240 students from all over the country in the year 1999, successfully taken its first exit in the year 2003. COER delivered its first batch and the off springs are growing rapidly and are associated with almost every known and reckoned name of market and education. As far as the infrastructure is concerned the institute got a good one.It is affiliated to UP technical University. The architecture of the buildings is very much inspired by that of IIT(R).The institute has gotten almost all the required amenities except a swimming pool.

The college is very well reputed in Uttarakhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The college started in 1998 by Shri Roshan Lal Jain Trust. For a mediocre student, the college is seriously above average. For a student who wants to focus completely on studying, this college is a bit average. The faculties are good enough to teach and guide the students. Many are very much experienced and few have even just retired from IIT Roorkee and have joined the college. Exposure to the world is what you experience the most in the college. The college has many committees and 2 NGO's - Team Pankhuri and Praharas. Team Pankhuri is also known as the Little Angels. The students experience a whole new world in the college.

In my opinion, this college is one of the best private colleges in the north India for mechanical engineering having good infrastructure and faculty members having good placement record in top multi national companies every year provide good exposure for student well-trained faculty members hostel facility is not so good but something above then good too. There is cultural programme organised time to time for exposing and appreciating student towards extra curricular activities. So many committees are formed in different areas such as literary committee linguistic committee cultural Committee etc. There is good relation ship between students and faculty members there are a separate research and development cell where many experiments and research are made by faculty and student.

My college, famously known as COER has been a brilliant experience for me so far. The location, the campus, faculty and industrial exposure is amazing. Many professors are IITians. The technical fest held here is one of a kind. Besides IIT Roorkee being nearby provides the motivational and technical force. Placement here is good and is totally based on your performance ( pointer+P.I). The hostel amenities fall behind the expected standards and food is average. The College life here is full of adventures and twists.

Let's start with academics. Academics is good overall, a few exceptions are always there (Civil branch). Teachers are knowledgeable and helpful. Some are lenient, few are strict. Mess food is edible. The cafe is a fun place to be. Beautiful people. Food. Wifi. Roorkee in itself isn't a big city so don't expect a great student crowd. Following that, you won't get any exposure so you have to work hard and keep looking for opportunities.

College Of Engineering Roorkee (abbreviated as COER) is an engineering college in Roorkee, just 30 km away from the Dev Bhoomi of India Haridwar. COER is one of the good colleges of the region, but not the best. Gone were the days when there was a huge demand of COER for the students. I joined COER a couple of years ago. I had expected a lot from the college. The college seems like a school with compulsory attendance and dress. The faculty is good. They regularly give lectures and the labs are conducted regularly. The hostels too are good and spacious with 2-seater and 1-seater accommodation. The mess food is average, not so good not so bad. Overall the facilities provided are good in accordance with the fees the charge.
