College of Technology is one among the 8 colleges of GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. Situated among the rural campus town of Pantnagar, the college offers little in terms of recreational centers but in turn is abundant with many fests, fairs, cultural nights and competitions round the year, organised and managed solely by the students. The college offers very good placements with many reputed organisations like TCS, Hero Motocorp, John Deers, Amazon, Adobe, Escorts etc. visiting the college. The hostels have very good facilities with free wi-fi, running water and gym available 24/7. Most of the professors are exceptionally knowledgeable with good practical experience under their belts. The student crowd is diverse and contains students from different regions of the country with an equal gender ratio. Being required to organise the plethora of fests and competitions by themselves, the students tend to learn to be highly responsible. The student crowd is also fiercely competitive, producing amazing results in big exams like CAT, GATE every year. The college is also highly affordable and even provides fee waivers for deserving students with a low financial background. All in all, the college provides a very valuable experience and is one to aspire for.

Last stage of life to enjoy

The college life in Pantnagar is good as it is one the oldest college of our country nd decades old. It is also currently the no. 1 University for agriculture in india. The infrastructure isn't that good as the building r quite old but since u get an over qualified nd an experienced staff it shouldn't be a point of concern. The placement is not too high but good enough for those who r deserving for getting jobs. The only thing u have to adjust with is the hostels as they r compulsory and r in a pathetic as the buildings are decades old. But they also teach you how to adjust. And the one who can stay in Pantnagar hostels can live anywhere.U r also provided with a big Stadium where u r well equipped with various playing materials for different games nd get a good chance to explore ur skills in various competitions.

A renowned college ,spacious located in the lap of nature. Study interspersed with participation in various other co-curricular activities makes it a good college. Listening of only its name people used to assume it to be a college with great facilities and much more which do not exist if looked deep into it.

College placements are really poor. The quality of faculty is also poor and they themselves lack the motivation to teach. I would not recommend you to join this college especially for CS ,IT & ECE branches. Although conditions are a bit better for Civil, Agri and Mechanical branches. But it gives you an opportunity to enjoy 4 years of hostel life with very little restrictions for boys, and for girls, i can only say that they will have to face a lot of restrictions in the name of security issues.

It has quite good infrastructural facilities but u can not use them because u have to come to the hostel before 6:30 pm . corporate exposure is nil .course curriculum is not updated since the college has started .placements are very poor for ECE only TCS is the major recruiter . In our department, only 5 faculties are there and most of the courses are taught by TA's who don't know anything because they are just B.Tech pass outs . labs are not held properly . and the most important thing if u are a girl student u have to live like a prisoner . u can't go outside the campus and the whole procedure to take leave for going home for 2-days process and even after roaming here and there for a signature of dean warden etc , there is no guarantee whether u will get leave or not .

Four Years in Isolation with the rest of the world.

The campus is peaceful, has some decent facilities as far as the computer center and library is concerned. It is a good place to prepare for some competitive exams for the future. But if you aim to build your career on the basis of your graduation degree , Pantnagar is not the place you should consider. It is isolated from all the events of outside world. The students live in their own world far from any competitive environment that can be seen in other colleges. The faculties do not have experience of any live projects through consultancy or otherwise so no exposure to practical work. The college does not offer any optional subjects for you to chose your area of interest. The only instances of interaction with outside world are during the fests, cultural and technical but they too have limited opportunities for fun or learning considering the strict rules of the university. The strict timing of hostels and no canteen or photostat shops creates lots of problems for the girls. As far as placements are concerned only one software firm recruits the major crowd from all the discipline, few other good options are available but only to the students of Mechanical and Production and that too very limited in number.

The University is ranked very high, at least in the state. The students that enter the college are really good. But the infrastructure, college facilities, learning, industry exposure is simply not there. The academic has not changed for any course, which is very necessary if you want to compete against the best institute in the country.

Not good for ECE, CS and IT

Posted on 23 Aug' 16 by Akanksha
Batch of Jan. 1, 2013 | B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering
GBPUAT is the oldest university of Uttarakhand and people getting good ranks in the Joint Entrance Exam join it. I had a State Rank of 148 when I joined the institute . We had many batchmates with ranks under 100. But the quality of education offered is very low. Especially with departments like ECE, CS, and IT which are comparatively new and have a very average faculty. The Placement Cell is also too lethargic to take efforts for bringing good companies on campus. There are many restrictions imposed on students like a fixed entry time for hostels and permission issues for participating in events outside the college. However, the quality of students is good and you can expect a good peer group to learn from. Student-run committees work very well and you get numerous chances to participate in events. I would not recommend Engineering aspirants to join this institute for these 4 years are very important for a person's life and it would be better to join a better college and make use of it. However, if you are desperate to pursue Engineering and have no better option, go for it to get a good peer group, participate in a lot of events and also to prepare for PG entrance exams or Jobs .

The College of Technology at Pantnagar University is the best part of my life. I cannot expect anything more from this college. Academics part is above average. But the kind of students we have Pantnagar is just awesome. You will know what friendship is, what life is if you study here. There is full on Masti here. Infrastructure is really good. You will not feel the need of anything else apart from the facilities that are provided. It has a beautiful sprawling campus which is the second largest in terms of contiguous area in the world. Labs, sports, computing, college libraries, university library, everything is there. The faculty is good. Many faculties do full-time research. There is a good scope of interdisciplinary research and university-funded projects are available in ample numbers. The Govind Ballabh Pant University of Technology has a big name in the world. You can just check the history of the university on Wiki, Youtube etc. It is everywhere. There is a very strong alumni base who are serving very reputed places and there are many big names like Vineet Nayar, Dr. Islam. A. Siddiqui. Relationships are something that a Pantnagarian always cherishes. Hostels and messes are just awesome. All this is at a very affordable cost. You won't even observe the costs of education here. There is only one demerit of this place. It causes addiction. You won't feel like living your life once you get out of this place. Be there and you will get to know.

From the point of view of a student who has been studying in this college for past two years. This university was established to give education in a field of Agriculture in 1964. But now it offers the degree in many fields as All major branches of engineering, Bachelor of science in Agriculture, Home science, Veterinary, Fisheries. It offers the master degree in all degree program mentioned above. Let’s start with a physical overview of the university, it has a large area. It has many buildings, several colleges, hostels, Administrative building, CCF, library, Registrar. Buildings are well equipped with furniture. Labs are fine. All in all in terms of its manufacture, it’s better than most of the colleges in the Uttarakhand. Hostels are big enough for all the students and almost of the room are well managed. Mess facility is good except three meals in a day, you’ll get one breakfast in the evening as refreshment. But the variation in food items is not so good. Now come to the education system, which is a backbone of any college. Faculties are very good or you can say best anyone can get. They are well educated and experienced. You will get a good guidance from them. Allowing of books is well managed. Some procedure is changed after the arrival of new Vice-chancellor. The drawback of the system is that you will have to suffer through colleges and department to get any permission, certificate or any signature or stamp from them. So overall I can say that this university is good for that student, who want to be successful in their life or want a better life.

This is ****, a student of College of Technology. I Think this college is one of the best colleges of India for pursuing Bachelor of Technologies. The labs are fully equipped with new and updated instruments. The lab charges are having a good knowledge of equipment. If we have any query regarding any problem they are ready to help us. The faculty here is outstanding. They are graduated from one of the most premier institutes of India. Many of them even have written their books and many of them have got published their research papers. The infrastructure here is average. The college has Asia’s biggest library. It has so many books that one cannot read them in one life. The library has been renovated several times. The college campus is located in Terrai region. It is surrounded by absolute greenery. That is why it is the good place to live in. The placements here is OK. On an average each branch has 60% placements in various private firms. Some branches even have 70% placement. The college maintains a very healthy system of extracurricular activities. The college has various societies for improving the overall personality of the students. The college has a Central Computing Facility which provides 24*7 internet facilities. Various events SPARDHA, LITHOSPHERE, ACCOLADE, COLOSSEUM, are organized in which the students from another university also participate. The college has eight branches in which one can complete his B. tech. The administration is very strict about your performance in the exam and your attendance percentage which should be above 80%.

Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agricultural and Technology is the heaven of Uttarakhand in studies. The college is the most prestigious college of Uttarakhand and stands number 2 in the list of top colleges of Uttarakhand after IIT Roorkee. Here all kinds of facilities like pure drinking water, 24*7eletricity supply, food quality are quite good, good teaching faculty and many things. There are some good things and some bad things in the university. First of all, I want to focus on all good things which are here. The first is studies. All classes are taken by the respective professors. All are talented and have deep knowledge of their subject and they are friendly in behavior. They solve your problem as like your friend. Tutorial sheet gave by them after every chapter so that the students don’t have any doubt about the subject. The university library is in good condition and it gave you a good atmosphere to study well and can concentrate your mind. The liberal education department is here to serve the extra activities like music, French class, English class but there is a big drop bag that the classes taken in the department are 2 or 3 in the semester that you can’t prepare well on that subject. Bad things are that there is a provision of 85% attendance. So it is your responsibility that if you have an urgent work the teaching faculty will not help you in ay aspect. The sitting arrangement in the class is also not so good but it is a university that gives you all you need.

I came to the university in 2014 august after cracking the JEE MAIN exam. At the starting, I was scared from dragging so I did not move out of the hostel. So there was no source of entertainment. But later I realised that the campus is ragging free. So the college life became awesome. The teaching level in the college is average. The faculties are excellent having pursued their post graduation from premier institutes of India. There are also some smart classes in which the lectures are delivered. The hostels in good conditions. There are numerous hostels like Patel Bhawan , Silver jubilee etc. There are few more which are under construction. The infrastructure of the college is nice. There are two large buildings of the college of technology. The library contains a large number of books for guiding the students in their entire study of the-the course. The college also provides central internet facility so that if the student has a query regarding any subject he can immediately surf the internet. There are many extracurricular activities which focus on students overall personality. There are many societies like SPIC MACAY, ETS, CHETNA which involves the students in various extracurricular activities. There are various events like LITHOSPHERE, ACCOLADE ,COLISEUM in which students from other institutes also compete. The college holds nice records of placement. On an average each branch has 40-50% placements. But some branches also have 70% placements. The placements are in the firms like Escorts, Honda , Maruti, TCS, John Deere etc.

Govind Ballabh Pant University of agricultural and technology has a decent environment and social life in its surrounding. If you attend this university be prepared to be trapped on campus because the lack of facilities but some facilities are good here which is quite satisfactory here which meets your need. The teaching faculty here is quite good. All professors are aware of their work. They all are punctual and disciplined. They take care of students in all aspects. They gave knowledge about the subject as well as for a better life and will take the time to work with the students. All classes are taken by the professors who are pass out or did their Ph.D. from IIT so they have a deep knowledge of their work theoretically as well as practically but it’s not their fault that most of the lab instruments are out of date so they have to give a theoretical knowledge only because lab instruments have a lot of % error in them. The location of the pantanagar is quite good but the infrastructure of the university is not so good. There are lots of trees and mostly all the students use cycles for their work so the atmosphere is eco-friendly also. Here also the facility of stadiums and gymnasium where one can practice for sports and fitness. There are so many opportunities for you to develop your skills with the help of different kinds of festivals and a good interaction between senior and junior. This university is against ragging.

Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology is the one of the best university of Uttarakhand. There are seven colleges in the university. College of technology is one of them. This is the college of best faculty. All classes are taken by the professors and all the professors are IIT's pass out or they did their Ph.D. from them. So it is the one of the most prestigious places of Uttarakhand. I was of 2014 batch and I feel that there are so much good things here and so many bad things here. First good things here are are the punctuality of the professors. All professors come in time and show their regularities in the teaching. They tried to give their best as they can do for students and very faithful to their duties. All we think that it is a government college so that the faculty is not good. The punctuality is not there but pantnagar is one of the places where the punctuality comes first. There is a good placement record. Companies like honda, Maruti and tata aremes here for placements and many branches have 70% of placement records and other branches have also placement like 50%.All aspects are fit for a good college for the college of technology. Now we focus on bad conditions of lab equipment in the lab. Most of the lab models and equipment are out of date. Many time professors are so rude that they can't easily handle and they give poor marks if someone say anything to them. There are many festivals organised by the societies here and students have opportunities to improve their confidence level. The vice-chancellor Mangla Rai try to improve the status of the university and they are much more successful in their aim. The condition of the university is quite better than ever. There is so much to study and preparation for examination not only semester but also the competitive and you can say simply that college of technology can give you anything you want for the purpose of the study.

Govind ballabh pant university of Agriculture and Technology is the first Agricultural university of India founded in 1960. As the student of this university, I feel very proud because it has very good reputation in Uttarakhand and also in India. There the 7 colleges in the university. College of technology is one of them. It is a good place where one can increase its knowledge and can do very good in academics. The infrastructure of the university is not so developed but it is quite good for students. Here you will not feel the problem of water and electricity but sometimes there is a problem of electricity shortage. I think that the internal examinations are the burden in the university. In every semester, you came across some of the most difficult subjects which you however pass by only passing marks. There is a provision of 85% attendance. It means if even you got ill there is no chance to improve your grade and suffer from a bad GPA. But the university gives you many opportunities so that you can improve yourself a more. If you are good in sports are you are welcomed in university team and you go to many places in India to show your talent. A leadership hunt program held by Vivekanand Swaahyaya Mandal is very good to improve leadership quality in you. All you know this is a government university so you have very fewer expectations from the study and the faculty. But you are wrong the university has their best teaching faculty in here. All classes are taken by professors and not even a single class missed by them. They all are very punctual of time and came in class at their time or you can say that are very co-operative. There are many activities in the university so it is very hard to study daily and one can improve their GPA by a little bit of study. So at last, I will say it is the best place where you can improve you qualities as well as you can build a good future building here.

This is a good university. After the arrival of new vice chancellor, many of the things changed in this university as like road construction is being started and all roads are in better condition ever. University library is better than ever and many of other things are in their good conditions ever before. All labs are in good conditions but in a physics lab, the instruments are out of date. The percent error of these instruments is even in 55% and more than this. There is a university stadium where many games are held. I workshop we got technical and practical knowledge of the tools and materials. There is a discipline in the study. All classes in their regular way and there is no wastage of student's time. The university has 7 colleges and college of technology is one of them. The university basically focuses on the study and development in Agriculture college which is the best college in India. There are no new books in the library of university and books will issue after 1 month of semester start and 1st test is in one and a half month of semester start. So students generally focus on what the teacher taught. Professors are from It's so they have deep knowledge of their subject and they helped the student in many aspects. There is a good interaction between senior and junior. They help students to what they have to do after 4 years of their college. So at the last I will say that Pantnagar will give you opportunities to do your best in every branch and you can be as successful as the professors of panting.

Govind Bballabh pant university of Agriculture and Technology Pantnagar is the renowned university of Uttarakhand as the overview of college which is reviewed by the magazine and all other websites. It secures always top 10 positions in the list of best Agriculture University all over the India. It was my experience of that time when I was to about come or enter in the prestigious university but at this time as a second-year student of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pantanagar, I always realize that it gives us various opportunities in all field of college life. If I talk about the education system of this university here are the best faculty from various IIT’s who are always concerned about the best future of students. The education system is good. Here are very good societies for the students and so many extra co-curricular activities. The stadium name is “Stevension Stadium” is up to mark. Various sports activities are organized throughout the year. The faculty provided to students and teachers are very good regarding health and other like their accommodation. It has very vast area may be second largest in Asia. Here every student has a chance to explore himself according to his area of interest. Various societies like ETS, BAJA, CHETNA, ASTITVA, SPIC MACAY etc. give a wide range of opportunities to students for developing their personalities. I have to study in Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pantangar since last two years. I have got many experiences during this period. Taking about the university it is very good or best I can say in the field of agriculture. This is most ancient and developed university in this field. It has a very large campus, wide fields and have many structural buildings like library, hostels, departments etc. There are many facilities like medical, transportation etc. There is also a computer facilities named Central Computer Facility. There is a big sports stadium where we can play several games which are very useful for a proper growth of students but some improvement should be there in many fields like a book in the library should be regularly updated, hostel maintenance should be properly done, especially of boys hostels. Conditions of bathroom and toilets are very bad. They are not properly cleaned and washed and they are also chocked due to the entrance of garbage in the way of water while flowing through the bathrooms. Apart from this, there is a good bonding between teachers and students so that the weak student feel comfortable in his study. well, let me give a brief description of the university in the field of technology. There are many courses in B.Tech and different branches like Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering etc. Classrooms are not in good condition. Laboratories are not properly cleaned and instruments are out of date so they don’t give an accurate reading. There are many opportunities for students like there are many societies like Chetna, ETS etc. So we can say that there are many opportunities here to develop yourself.

My college life is excellent. It is very enjoyable because I do not study a lot.But it is my serious advice to my juniors that you do need to study a lot to survive in this college. Here the major problem is of the infrastructure of the hostel. It is poor. The maintenance of the hostel is poor. The toilets are poor with mosquitos flying here and there. There is no accommodation problem. The food quality in the hostel is very good. The service of the mess is also very good. There are geysers in each wing of the hostel so that students can have a warm shower.Everything in the hostel is good except the toilets. The college has a very large stadium. It has various sports equipment like football, table tennis, basketball, cricket, volleyball. It also has a gym for students who are interested in body building. The college conducts various sports events like spardha the athletic meet etc.It also has excellent fests like lithosphere, accolade, coliseum etc. The administration is very tight. The faculties here are excellent. The departments like the mechanical department , the agricultural department and the civil department has experts having completed their doctorates from the renowned institute of India. The teaching level is very good. Some of the professors teach in a manner that even a layman can understand the engineering lecture. The placements are nice. The average placements in each branch is 50% which is continuously increasing.Annually the students get placed in the private firms like TCS,John Deere, Escorts ,Honda ,Maruti etc. There is also a nice record in selection in GATE,IAS,GRE ,CATetc.

I came to the College of Technology in the year 2014-15. Here I observed that the faculties were highly qualified and trained in various branches of engineering. Some of the faculties even have written books. I cannot tell the book’s name because it clearly mentioned in the review’s condition that names should not be written. The faculties have pursued their M.tech and P.hd’s from IIT’s , NIT’s and another renowned institute of India. The teaching level is average. But some professors have excellent teaching method. The college life is far better. Often there are are holidays and we enjoy it. You can go to Rudrapur or Haldwani for watching a movie during off hours. The infrastructure of our college is nice.We have so many hostels and there is no accommodation problem. But the cleanliness level is poor. There are so many mosquitos in the toilets that we have to put ODOMOS on our body before defecating. The college has a huge library which contains a million books on various subjects. The college has an excellent system of extracurricular activities. The college has societies like SPIC MACAY , ETS, CHETNA ,ASTITVA for improving the overall personality of the student. The placement here is 40-50%.Some branches even have 70% placement. The college conducts NSS and NCC for improving physical abilities of the students. The college has a very strict administration. Those who think that they will easily pass in the exam are making themselves the fool. For surviving in the college, you will have to bring a minimum 50% marks. The college campus is absolutely safe for girls. The administration is very sound and sensitive regarding the safety of girls.

College of technology is the place for where one can get best knowledge and direction to achieve their goal. The atmosphere and the climate are suitable for the study of any student. And the faculty of this place is the best faculty which is very decent for student's study. Every teacher wants that the student achieves good grades in their subject. They give their 100% in their effort. But there is a weak point in the system. That is they didn't give any additional information for the competitive papers. Students do their preparation from coaching institutes. They only force for good GPA not for the good knowledge of the subject. Some professors didn't complete their syllabus and their strict behaviour is hard to resist. The procedure for everything is too long and it will take too much time to do so. The placement of the college has also decreased considerably. Earlier students got placed in good companies but since then good placements and packages are only a few. The library was also filled with old books but thanks to the new vice chancellor that most of the books are now replaced by new ones. Some of the professors did not took classes but used to send T.P.s to teach. The papers are internally prepared so sometimes professors repeat the course of some students in lieu of their personal rage. But at last, the atmosphere of the Pantnagar is too good for study and facilities are available to do so. The students also get a lot of opportunities in the field of sports and fine arts so that the students can improve themselves in these fields.

College of Technology, GBPUAT My name is Vijay Raj Singh. I am a student of this college in the branch Agricultural Engineering of the batch of 2014. The infrastructure of this college is pretty poor with most labs in most departments of most branches having the pretty outdated equipment. The number of students placed is somewhat low but it’s expected to rise in the next few years, most likely due to the fact that our university has finally got a permanent vice-chancellor after almost more than a half a decade. Even this year, number of companies have come in for placements as compared to previous year. The only drawback in the placement procedure of the college is that base packages usually hover around an average of 5-6 lakhs (but that’s true for more than 90% of engineering colleges in India) and that if you secure placement in accompany, you cannot sit for placements in another company even though you have been placed in TCS and then companies like Honda decide to come in for placements in the college. As for the recreational facilities in the college, they are a wide range of activities to choose from sports to cultural activities. You can learn languages (like French or German), learn to play instruments or photography etc. There are a large number of sports which you can choose from and a large number of societies ranging from cultural ones to technical ones to societies dedicated to the upliftment of society. The hostels leave much to be desired. There are no generators for power back-up and the room facilities are very poor. The mess facilities are good, though. The best part of the college is that there is no pollution in the university as it is situated far away from cities but it also proves to somewhat of a negative too as there are no cinemas or other facilities with the nearest one being about 20-30 km away and as the students are not allowed to keep automobiles, you have to travel by autorickshaw to these places which in itself is very cumbersome. So yes, it might be difficult place to live in for some but for the branch of agricultural engineering it is the best place to be, with jobs being virtually guaranteed for 95% or more students in various fields and high number of opportunities for further education with quotas being provided for specifically this branch in institutions like IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Lucknow and many more.

College of Technology is a place from where I started my engineering. It was established in 1966.Lecture classrooms are good in condition except that the arrangement of chairs is poor, Lack of technical media for addressing lectures consisting of a large number of students. It has eight branches of engineering viz. agricultural, civil, computer, mechanical, I.T., industrial and production and electrical and electronics and communication. There is no doubt about the ability faculties. But something here is lacking. Either the students are not so efficient so as to understand the teachers or the teachers are not having enough time for the students. Well, a student’s life is always good and joyful. In Pantnagar especially in College of Technology, the life is full of stress.because we do not learn the things practically owing to the condition of poor lab poor lab assistants. For an engineer, the primary thing is that he should learn about his fields practically. The results of our college are good in every semester. Some technical societies do good work to enhance the creative skills of the students annually infests like accolade, lithosphere and Colleseum in which students get involved. Placements in the college are not so good. Some branches have 75% placements but some have only 50%. The college should be so that every student should be made strong enough so that every student gets placed. So there is a major need of improvement in the field of placement. The placement cell needs to invite companies so that the placement can be increased. Some of the visiting companies are TCS, Honda, etc.

The college of technology is the best option for an undergraduate degree, especially for agricultural engineering. I have been in the agricultural engineering program since at the college of technology since the last two years. The engineering program here is quite weird. The college is accredited. I recommend this college and especially this program to anyone interested in having to do something better. You will get a quality education and learn ways to specifically apply your education to the workplace. The college is filled with helpful professors, flexible learning opportunities, and relevant course sections. When you graduate with an engineering degree from the college you will create a better future and will have a better opportunity in the field. The sports facilities of the college are quite good. The university also has a Stevenson stadium which organizes various programs to enhance the sports skills of the students. The college also has a number of societies which conduct a lot of fests like the colloseum and accolade to improve the technical as well as the cultural skills of the students. The placements of the college are quite average and also, a few companies visit the campus. The college faculty is also well qualified from various reputed IITs and nits. But the college faculty members do not focus on the studies of the students. Also, the placements in the college are not quite good enough. The companies visiting the college do not give good packages to the students and therefore, students prefer to prepare for higher studies.

I came in the university of Pantnagar at august 2014. At starting I think this university is very good and have a big campus so placement is good but later I realized that the situation was worst in the placement section. No good companies visit the campus for placement. The facilities in this university in all department is very good and all the laboratories are good and all the equipment are also good but there is no use of this equipment. Students only do time pass in the laboratory and also, a teacher does not give stress upon the studies. The hourly and exam system in the college is very bad since it follows an internal examination system. The attendance system is very good in the college. Anybody below 75% is detained in the subject due this reason students have to attend the classes regularly. The discipline is also maintained in the college. All the sports facilities are also good in the university. There is also a Stevenson stadium to enhance your sports skills. The lab class assigned to the professors are sometimes taken by teaching personnel who are not well qualified. But students here get a lot of opportunities who want to prepare for higher classes. The library here is also of good condition and a lot of books.
