The M. Tech. in Computational Fluid Dynamics program offered by UPES School of Advanced Engineering is a comprehensive two-year graduate program that equips students with cutting-edge tools and techniques for numerically simulating intricate mechanical systems, covering fluid dynamics, structural dynamics, and mechanics of materials. By employing high-speed digital computers, students learn to solve governing partial differential equations and constitutive relations, enabling them to gain valuable insights into the thermo-fluidic-structural aspects of mechanical systems.

The curriculum comprises advanced courses in fluid and structural mechanics, as well as basic and advanced numerical algorithms for fluid mechanics and structural dynamics. Students also engage in hands-on software and coding exercises to strengthen their practical skills. The program culminates with a one-year thesis, providing students with an opportunity to undertake in-depth research and showcase their expertise in a specific area of Computational Fluid Dynamics.

This program goes beyond aerospace and mechanical engineering applications, as Computational Fluid Dynamics is a versatile research and design tool utilized in various engineering disciplines involving fluid flows, structural dynamics, and multidisciplinary optimization. By combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience, graduates of this program will be well-equipped to tackle real-world engineering challenges, contribute to research endeavors, and advance innovation in a wide range of industries.
