B.Tech Biotechnology Specialization in Computational Biology and Drug Discovery at School of Health Sciences and Technology, UPES, Dehradun Offline Course

The B.Tech. Biotechnology program at UPES School of Health Sciences and Technology is a four-year program of 165 credits, combining theory, laboratory practicals, projects and industrial trainings. Students study core areas such as biochemistry, cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology and genetics, genetic engineering, bioprocess engineering and downstream processing, immunology and immuno-techniques, environmental biotechnology, enzyme technology, and animal and plant biotechnology. Skill-based vocational courses cover bioanalytical techniques, nanobiotechnology, data analysis and simulations, regenerative medicine and artificial organs, tissue engineering, AI/ML in health care, systems biology, genome editing, and computational biology and bioinformatics. Two specialisation tracks are offered.

The Computational Biology and Drug Discovery specialisation focuses on AI and machine learning in healthcare, biosimilar discovery and development, structural biology, and rational drug discovery, enabling data-driven approaches to modern drug development. Each specialisation culminates in a capstone project to support research-oriented thinking, innovation and industry readiness. Practical training, industrial/institutional visits and internships strengthen application-focused learning.
