72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned offered by Anna University, Chennai.
Eligibility Criteria
- The following are eligible to seek admission to the Ph.D. programme: Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have completed: A 1-year/2-semester Masters degree programme (after 4 year under graduate degree) with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in the UGC 10- pointscale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is
followed) or anequivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment andAccreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions. A 2-year/4-semester Master’s degree programme, with the same conditions as in subclause 2.1.1 above; A candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree with Research should have a minimum CGPA of 7.5/10.
