There is a medical room in our college but it remains closed till now as no doctor ever visited to our college. So if any student or staff member or anyone have some health issue in the campus , we have no medical facility and we have to go far to reach a medical clinic.
I am studying BA PROG. course. I choose it because of civil services . Quality of teaching is good as some teachers are putting their 100% towards the students. But some teachers are not ideal for students as some of them do smoking outside the college gate which leaves a poor impact on students brain.
Don't know much about all this placement stuff. As I am a BA PROG. student, there is no such kind of placement procedure in our course. You will get more information about this from our B.Com. hns. Students.
In terms of infrastructure , it is one of the best college in delhi University. It has all the facilities which we expect from a govt. College. Libraries are well maintained. Labs are properly equipped. Lecture halls have ACs . College ground is quite big. Volleyball court , basketball court are quite ok . Hostels are one of the best in DU but they are only for girls. Living spaces are clean and canteen is okay as well.
If you want an academic career then it is perfect college for you. Professors are highly educated and there is a positive atmosphere in classes. I am persuing chemistry hons. Curriculum is updated and practicals are regular and properly assessed.
Placements in du is not so good except for some colleges and courses. College has a placement cell which helps students to get placed. Commerce students get placed more often than science and arts. It is quite descent.
Bsc. Students have to pay 30k fees approx per year. It is more than other colleges in DU but its okay because we are getting facilities according to it. Not every du colleges have ACs in their classes but we have.
So here comes the point . College is fun. So here you will get it for sure. You will surrounded by Amazing peeps all around. You will have intellectuals , nerds , party peeps and many others who will be there with you at all the bunks ?. In terms of students - teacher interaction , it is perfect. They always support you. College location is perfect. It is nearly 300 m from metro stn.
PS:- Go for it. Don't think if it is minority college or not. You will definitely get all the fun and perks of north campus and DU life. Try to make more and more friends . Be interactive. You will enjoy a lot. All the best.
My three years in the college were amazing. Faculty is very amazing, they are always helpful. Talking about infrastructure, It is among the top 3 colleges infrastructure-wise (I have gone to all the colleges of North campus). Library facility is the best. Fully Air conditioned. I guess Khalsa college has the best library in the North campus. Talking about fees structure, fees in Khalsa college is higher than any other college of DU. In some courses it is even 3 times of the other colleges.
Every year many students clear IIT-JAM exam and get the top ranks. They are studying in top Universities like IIT, JNU and DU after graduating. Teachers are quite relaxed with internals, but you have to perform well.
Science students can sit in placements but usually companies hire Commerce or Economics students. Placement cell is quite active, but still it lags in providing placements to science students. Obviously, science students cannot clear the interviews of finance and marketing based companies.
I pursed Bsc. Hon. Chemistry. In first year I paid around 21k for Bsc., which is way higher than other colleges. Second year it costed me around 24k, yeah! they increased the fee. In final year I paid around 29k which is way too higher, every year they increase the fees.
Khalsa college is very near to metro station, 100-150m far. So, it is easy to reach the college. I guess North campus has its own perks, you can interact with other colleges students. But, it is not far from other colleges not very near. You can go to other colleges fests and enjoy. You can participate in many competitions in other colleges.
College has many societies. You can join any and improve your extra curricular activities performances. Few societies are not very active but others are quite active. College has amazing ground, beautiful gardens where you can relax with your friends.
College have different blocks for different courses. Our college best playground among Delhi University Colleges earlier it was allotted for Commonwealth games practices.College have triple storeyed Air conditioned library with many collection of books.Physics and Chemistry Labs have enough space to accommodate 100 of students. There is a sports complex, medical room and Girls Hostel inside college campus.College also provide high speed Wifi to their students.
I am Chemistry Hons. student of this college. The renowned world class faculty of Chemistry department like prof. GS Sodhi,PS Jassal,Vimal Rarh they give a quality teaching.Teachers also give opportunity to students to work under them for Internships. Many guest lectures are conducted in auditorium to provide insights of industry and world. College is well known for its Economics Hons. course.
There is placement cell in college named Ignite. Many recruiters came for placement of Commerce students.Prominent companies like EY,KPMG and other consulting firms come placements. Many students get placed through off campus placement drive.
Course fee of science, arts and commerce ranges from Rs.15000-20000 per year. Its worth joining this college which gives plenty of exposure to students from extra curricular activities and co-curricular activities plus the most advantageous thing is that college is located in North Campus.
College is located in North Campus of Delhi University, college is very close from Vishwavidyalaya Metro station Gate no.4.College have place called Jannat where student can Hangout in free times.College also have canteen which provide food at subsidized rate. There is Coffee Day Xpress inside college.Student Union election also takes place every year in college where student get opportunity to showcase their leadership skills.
College ground is good. Classes and benches are not up to the mark.classes on the top floor are very small and tidy. College ground is also not available for the students of the college to play. Although can manage.
Personal experience says only self study does the work. Teachers are only for taking tests and submitting assignments. No minimum requirement of attendance. So we just opt to miss classes and study ourselves.
Can't say that much about the placements. But the society related to the placements is not good.I don't depend on the placements of my college and my friends also not. Although I can't refer anyone about the placements.
Yess it good. You can say that the value for money is achieved. As you get to study in the rooms with AC. The college organises Khel Utsav also where you can take part in various sports activities. And some of the teachers are pretty good.
Campus life is normal
Average
The infrastructure is awesome. It's the biggest college of Delhi university in terms of infrastructure. It's one of the best colleges in Delhi University, it's on the north campus of Delhi University and is well connected by the means of transport.
The college has an amazing faculty. the teachers are helpful.it is up to you how well connected are you with the course curriculum is decent. at the undergraduate course level, it is good that we have a CBCS system of evaluation.
placement at our college is good, not great at the undergraduate level, if you want a good placement you must purse a post-graduation course.average package after b.com(Hons) goes around 3 lacs. the highest package last year went around 11LPA
being in the north campus this college provides one of the best campus experience to the students.
College provides all the facilities that one establishment must have but doesn’t focus on bringing up new details. Toulets are usually clean but mostly used ones are bit unhygienic due to less frequent cleaning. There are wifi and smart boards and all classroom with AC so pretty chill..
I am pursuing maths hons from khalsa because of my personal interest in numbers and analysis. Though the course is pretty different from what u learnt in grade 12 its a good course with specialist teachers. Yeah it was updatwd recently in 2018 so no worries. It makes u job ready partially.
Quality of placements have been inclined to bcom and bbe degrees and less scientific or research companies coming on campus. The average salry offered was around 4-5 laks and placement cell makes it easy for students to apply. Around 60% were placed .
This college has all the necessary facilities that a college should have and the administration takes proper maintenance and care of it. All the college area is very neat and clean,be it public spaces or the classrooms. Even though the area of this college is huge, it doesn't much compromises with the hygiene.
The Academics area of this college is one of the best in Delhi University. Especially the Chemistry Department. It's among the top ones. The teachers take personal interest in all the issues faced by students. The teaching and non-teaching staff are very friendly and helpful.
The Students from the last year,i.e., 3rd year are recommended for the placement. Most of them have high chances of getting placed since the overall score of the college is quite high. Just by surrounding yourself in the atmosphere can take you through many opportunities. Seminars and workshops keep are a regular occurrence here to find out what you can do best.
The fees although is a bit more than the usual as compared to other colleges. It should have been less.
There are a number of activities to do in the college. You name it and they have a society for it. And if not, then you have the liberty to form your own society (obviously by fulfilling certain formalities). Each student can join societies which are really fun. Apart from this, being in north campus the outside college life is amazing too. Hanging out at Hudson lane and shopping at Kamla Nagar, the connectivity of Metro from Vishwavidyala makes it a wholesome pack.
For me the college experience is excellent. To grow as a person by talking to such intellectual classmates and teachers. It was a crucial part for me. And will always be cherished.
College infrastructure is although good but the labs are equipped with all the necessary equipment, classes enabled with smart classes and wifi enabled facilities and the college campus is clean and hygiene.
Chemistry honours is one of the highly recognised course in the college since the college is natural resource centre of the india, this could give a light to the quality of education the institute is providing.
Although all the courses doesn't have placement cell, because the courses require a master degree to have that much knowledge to sit in the placement. Commerce department have placement cell and have a good placement record.
On average of 28000 for science courses, this is one of the highest in the Delhi University as the college work under the Gurudwara Sikh community, being semi-government the fees is high. Although you will not regret the fees paid.
College have so many societies to engage in, based on there interest. All the students and teachers are friendly and approachable.
Overall the college is worth to be in, a good college life and good friends in this college will be cherry on cake.
Yes infrastructure of our college is the best of all most probably in the north campus it's the best one. The classrooms are very well airy and spacious. Moreover if we talk about laboratories everything related to our needs is very well available every time. Sports fest is organised by our college union members . Wifi is mostly for teachers. Hostel is just for girls but it's the best ever hostel in my point of view.only the main issue is the water inside the water cooler is not at all hygienic.
Actually I m a student of chemistry hons and frankly speaking I wanted to do maths hons but in urge of North campus I had to take chemistry as my part. Moreover it's because I choose this college over kirori mal because the faculty is just beyond expectation. They teach us with full dedication and are very well helpful. Ya infact our classroom has a smart board one which we are well updated about the recently discovery related to our subject or else .ya I will definitely be making my future this
Since I m in second year I m not properly not aware about the placements but I can definitely say that it must be good because under the guidance of such teachers we are able to do as much step ahead as we wish to . I don't knw the full details so making a wrong guess will not be right
I feel that being a government college it's fees is quite highbas compared to othet colleges for the same course. Last year we paid nearly 24000 and now we paid nearly about 30000.. which is quite high according to me. This is definitely true as listed by me I'm above sections that I feel worth it to pay this amount . Actually I belong basically from panipat so including pg rents it costs me quite high but it's quite worth it too.
Never have I ever enjoyed as such as I have did in past 2 years here. The campus hanging outs the places nearby are just awesome experiences ever. Most probably student here choose inturnshala as their inturnship program which they generally are paid for . The atmosphere is quite of my type and I like being here very much from the depth of my heart. The location is safe for girls but the thefts have quite a high rates . I don't think emergencies can be handled so easily as lack of medical facili
No not really but I would definitely want to say that being in this college I have experienced a lot and gained a lot of knowledge from our honorable teachers. I feel pleased to thank them.
Hello aspirant
Gargi College has been an amazing college and ranked 16th in the NIRF 2021 ranking in the college category and it was ranked 16th in the NIRF 2020 college ranking. The college has been granted the Star College status by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India consecutively for 9 years.
sgtb college is also an excellent college with a credit in NAAC established in 1951 with 15 acres campus . it's a tough call to choose one of the college among these two .

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, New Delhi, will be the best option among the Gargi, ARSD, and Khalsa College if the distance is not the parameter.
SGTB Khalsa College is the oldest college with the best infrastructure and phenomenal teaching faculty. Every facility is available in this college.
For Maths Hons, I suggest you prefer SGTB Khalsa over other colleges; else, ARSD is not a bad option.

Hi.
OBC Students are allowed under General Category students in SGTB Khalsa, Delhi. This is so because the college does not cover OBC Category under Reserved Category and has allotted Categories to Sikh Minority, PwD, EWS and Kashmiri Migrant. The reservation category seats and the categories that benefit from this it is an internal and private matter for the institute administration and may or may not be revealed.
Good Luck
