PGDM Mass Communication Film Making at Vishwakarma Global Business School, Pune Offline Course

Mass Communication is a study in which group of people or organization transfer information or message through a channel of communication to a large populace at the same time. Channels of communication usually include Internet or television, radio and print media like newspapers, book publishing and magazines. Information and message are basically conveyed by professional communicators and it differs from interpersonal communication and organization communication. This sort of communication focuses more on single source information transmission to a large group of people. The chief concern of mass communication is to monitor the effect of content of mass communication on opinion, attitude, emotions and behavior of the people receiving the information. Film making is a course designed by VGBS, college in Pune, to prepare students for the competitive video and film industries. Students follow individualized film projects from conceptualization to exhibition. This vigorous course will familiarize students with the roles of producer, director, camera operator, sound mixer, and editor. Students will be required to generate documentary ideas in small groups and conduct a professional ” pitch ” before a committee (faculty and/or school board). Top pitch ideas will be selected and made into films. In preproduction, students will work in the community and classroom to prepare for the shoot. In production, students will be in the field collecting footage. In postproduction, the footage will be logged, edited, and evaluated. Students will make professional looking DVD interactive menus and covers. Publicity press kits will be assembled (production stills, press releases, biographies). Students will have the opportunity to submit their work to various film festivals and local venues.
