Mechanical Engineering involves the analysis and development of technological systems involving motions and allows people to harness the energy. Mechanical engineers are responsible for the conception, design, manufacture, control, maintenance and management of such systems. This is a four year programme having 8 semesters. The degree will be provided by the Anna University, Chennai.
Eligibility Criteria
Students should be passed in HSE /CBSE/Pre-degree/Plus 2 equivalent school study with minimum eligibility in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry Or
Students should be passed in HSC (vocational stream) with Engineering / Technology as vocational subjects and any 1 or 2 of the related subjects like Maths, Physics, Chemistry Or
The candidates having any equivalent qualification approved and recognised by the State Board of Technical Education and Training / Higher Secondary Board of Tamil Nadu and Universities in Tamil Nadu are also eligible.
Minimum of 45% marks for OC and 40% marks for SC/ST/BC/MBC/DNC are required in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry in class XII.
For Lateral Entry:
Students should be passed in 3-year Diploma courses conducted by Tamil Nadu State Board of Technical Education or equivalent recognised by the board in pre-final/ final semester of study.
OC candidates should score a minimum of 45% marks and SC/ST/BC/MBC/DNC candidates should score a minimum of 40% marks in total in semesters V & VI.
Admission Details
The admission process will be based on TNEA entrance exam.
Admissions are done according to State Government norms.
65% of seats are filled through Single Window Counselling and 35% of seats are filled through the Consortium of Self-Financing Professional Colleges. (Need to add more content for it)
