Preparing for CAT, SNAP, NMAT and XAT between November and January requires a schedule that balances common topics with exam-specific practice. CAT 2026 is scheduled for November 29, SNAP tests are scheduled for December 13, 19 and 26, NMAT's testing window runs from November 2 to December 20, and XAT 2027 is scheduled for January 3. Graduates and working professionals can prepare for all four exams by studying overlapping topics together and shifting their focus as each exam approaches.

CAT, SNAP, NMAT and XAT Exam Schedule: November to January

The exam calendar should determine your weekly priorities. Focus on the nearest exam while maintaining short practice sessions for the others.

    Month

    Main priority

    Preparation objective

    November 2026

CAT, followed by SNAP and NMAT

Complete CAT revision and practise speed-based questions

    December 2026

    SNAP, NMAT and XAT

Attend booked tests and increase XAT-specific preparation

    January 2027

    XAT

Revise Decision Making, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and General Knowledge

CAT is scheduled for November 29, SNAP offers three December test dates, and XAT takes place on January 3. NMAT candidates should follow their confirmed bookings within the official testing window. Check the official websites for schedule changes before finalising your preparation plan.

How to Prepare for CAT, SNAP, NMAT and XAT Together

These exams share Quantitative Aptitude, English and Reasoning topics, so you can reduce duplicate study time by preparing common concepts together. However, each exam requires a different approach to question selection, difficulty and time management.

    Exam

    Preparation priority

    CAT

    VARC, DILR and Quantitative Aptitude

    SNAP

Speed, accuracy, vocabulary and Logical Reasoning

    NMAT

Adaptive testing format, section timing and question selection

    XAT

Decision Making, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and General Knowledge

Start by reviewing the CAT 2026 syllabus and identifying the topics that overlap with the other exams. Build your concepts first, then practise questions in each exam's format.

Graduates can use longer study sessions to cover difficult topics, while working professionals can focus on one or two targets each day. For example, complete Quantitative Aptitude practice before work and solve a Reading Comprehension passage in the evening.

Master Preparation Timetable From November to January

Candidates can check out the master preparation timetable from November to January in the section below:

    Also Attempt, CAT Mock Test

    November 2026: Prioritise CAT

CAT 2026 is scheduled for November 29. Give CAT the largest share of your study time during the first three weeks while maintaining shorter sessions for SNAP and XAT.

    Period

    Main focus

    November 1–7

Revise concepts and take a full-length mock

    November 8–14

Practise VARC, DILR and Quantitative Aptitude

    November 15–21

    Take mocks and analyse mistakes

    November 22–28

Revise formulas and familiar question types

    November 29

    CAT exam

During the final week, avoid starting several unfamiliar topics. Review your mock errors, practise manageable questions and maintain a consistent sleep schedule.

Candidates who need to revise the three CAT sections can use CAT last-minute preparation tips to organise their final revision. After the exam, shift your attention to SNAP and your scheduled NMAT attempt.

December 2026: Focus on SNAP and NMAT

SNAP has three scheduled test dates in December: 13, 19 and 26. NMAT's testing window closes on December 20. Plan your preparation around your confirmed bookings.

    Period

    Main focus

    December 1–6

    Revise formulas, vocabulary and reasoning

    December 7–12

    SNAP revision and timed practice

    December 13–18

    Scheduled SNAP and NMAT attempts

    December 19–20

Follow booked SNAP and NMAT schedules

    December 21–26

Prepare for the remaining SNAP test, if booked

    December 27–31

Focus on XAT Decision Making and revision

After each SNAP attempt, identify the question types that consumed the most time and the errors you could have avoided. Use this analysis to improve your next attempt instead of changing your entire strategy.

Practise SNAP 2026 time management to improve question selection and accuracy under the 60-minute test limit. If your SNAP and NMAT attempts are complete, dedicate the remaining days to XAT-specific practice.

January 2027: Final Revision for XAT

XAT 2027 is scheduled for January 3, 2027, from 2 PM to 5 PM. The short gap between December and the exam makes early preparation for Decision Making important.

    Date

    Preparation focus

    January 1

Decision Making, Verbal Ability and formula revision

    January 2

Review mock errors and revise familiar topics

    January 3

    XAT exam

Focus on Decision Making caselets, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation. Revise the General Knowledge material you have already covered rather than trying to learn everything at the last minute.

Use XAT Decision Making practice questions to understand how to evaluate situations, compare alternatives and select the most defensible course of action.

Daily Study Timetable for Graduates and Working Professionals

Your timetable should reflect how much time you can realistically devote to preparation. Graduates may have more flexibility during the day, while working professionals can concentrate study sessions before or after office hours.

Working professionals can use weekends for full-length mocks and detailed analysis. If work becomes demanding, complete shorter revision sessions rather than abandoning the routine.

How Many Mock Tests Should You Take Before January?

Mock frequency should increase as an exam approaches, but every test needs proper analysis.

    Month

    Suggested practice

    November

2–3 CAT mocks per week early in the month, followed by lighter revision

    December

Timed SNAP and NMAT mocks based on booked attempts

    January

1–2 XAT mocks before the exam, if time permits

These are suggested targets, not mandatory numbers. After each mock, record your score, accuracy, time spent per section and recurring mistakes. Identify whether errors came from weak concepts, calculation mistakes, misreading or poor time management.
