What is M.M.S (Master of Management Studies)?
Master of Management Studies or commonly known as M.M.S is mainly targeted to teach students about management studies in detailed information while also helping them achieve skills and knowledge required in the management world. M.M.S is a two year postgraduate programme offered by various institutes. M.M.S is similar to MBA and is open to students from all streams of academics such as Humanities, Science, Commerce etc. The degree is semester-wise and the students will be given training to develop their business management skills along with other skill sets needed to be successful in this field. Most of the colleges which offer M.M.S are located in Maharashtra.

Types of M.M.S (Master of Management Studies)
M.M.S is a postgraduate degree of two years. The degree is open for students who have just completed their undergraduate studies and meet the required eligibility criteria. At the second year of the postgraduate degree, the student will be able to choose their preferred specialization. For better career opportunities in the future, the students will have to to study the postgraduate degree and obtain specialization. Internships are also an integral part of this degree.
For admissions into M.M.S, there are some eligibility criteria that has to be met by the students. While most of the eligibility criteria remains general, there may be some variations institute-wise. If the basic eligibility criteria is not satisfied, then the students will not be allotted seats into the institute.
Students should have completed their graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
General category students should have scored minimum 50% aggregate marks in their graduation. For reserved category students, the minimum aggregate marks required is 45%.
Final year graduation students will also be eligible for M.M.S. However, these students will have to submit a proof of completion of graduation as per the time period specified by their institute.
Students who wish to study Master of Management Studies (M.M.S) will have to qualify the entrance examination conducted by the respective authorities. Since most of the institutes in Maharashtra offer admissions into M.M.S, the students are required to qualify MHT CET for admissions. They may also have to appear for group discussions and personal interviews if they qualify the entrance examination. Admissions will be done based on merit.
However, some institutes also offer admissions on the basis of national level entrance examinations such as Common Admission Test (CAT), Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), Management Aptitude Test (MAT) and more.

CAT - Common Admission Test or commonly known as CAT is a national level entrance examination which is conducted by different IIM each year. The computer based exam is conducted to provide qualification to candidates for MBA/MMS admissions. Many colleges offer M.M.S admissions on the basis of CAT.
MAT - Along with CAT, many institutes also offer M.M.S admissions on the basis of Management Aptitude Test (MAT). Conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA), candidates who qualify MAT will also be accepted in some institutes for M.M.S.
CMAT - Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for postgraduate admissions into management programmes. Some institutes offering M.M.S admissions also accept students with a qualified CMAT score.
XAT - Conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur, Xavier Aptitude Test or commonly known as XAT is a computer based examination. Candidates who qualify XAT will have the qualification to apply for admissions into postgraduate management courses. For M.M.S admissions, XAT scores will also be accepted by some institutes.
ATMA - Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) conducts AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA). Students who qualify ATMA will be eligible for admissions into some institutes which offer M.M.S degree,
MAH MMS CET - State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra conducts MAH MMS CET annually to provide admissions into the first year of postgraduate degree in Business Administration. The examination is conducted as a computer based test and students will be provided admissions into the participating institutes as per their merit.
