Hello dear,

Any person who has passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum of 50% marks is eligible for admission to this course.

The admission process of B. Tech. Food Technology is based on an entrance examination. Candidate has to go throughJEE (Joint Entrance Examination)to take admission into this course.

Various colleges and universities requireJEE Mainrank of students to take entrance into this course. The test is conducted nationwide by the zonalIITs (Indian Institute of Technology). 13 Lakh students appear for this test.JEE Main syllabusis based on 10+2 syllabus and covers 3 subject Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Application Process: The application process begins in the month of November and ends in December. Admit cards are available in March.

Mains:The JEE test is divided into two stages Mains and Advanced. Mains is the first stage. Students rank in Mains examination is considered for the admission in B.tech Food Technology.

Counselling:This is the final stage. Here the candidate chooses the college according to his rank in Mains examination and college/university cutoff, thereby taking admission into that college.

There is also provision for lateral entry into this course. There will be a separate entrance exam for lateral entry. LEET (Lateral Engineering Entrance Test) is conducted for students to take entry into 2ndyear of course, which is known as lateral entry.

The cut offs for the current year cannot be predicted, these are released only once the counselling is over, the cut offs are based on the number of seats and the number of B.Arch Colleges. However you can make certain predictions as to what college you can get by comparing your cut off with the cut offs of various colleges from previous years.

Cutoff marks for admission B.Arch in Anna University

The link above are the cut off for the year 2014. The cut offs for various colleges change every year, but it can provide you a fair idea.

The necessary criteria is to get atleast 80 on 200 in your NATA exam and the rest 200 is based on the average of PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Maths). So your final cut off would be out of 400.

Hope my answer helps. :)
