This course was designed and offered by the University of Ghana and Georgetown University (USA) developed and delivered this course via the EDX platform.  Jessica Kritz who is the Assistant professor and Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe the professor explain this online course.

Sub-Saharan Africa is the continent with the highest rate of urbanization in the world, as well as the greatest need for resources to fulfill sustainable economic development. This course will examine the difficulties of trying to address urban health, sometimes referred to as the "crisis of urban health in Sub-Saharan Africa". It will analyze and visualize key issues currently being addressed by policymakers, planners, and implementers.

The study of urban health has traditionally focused on the connections between the built environment, social dynamics, and individual health. Given the complex multidimensional settings of urban Sub-Saharan Africa, recent pandemics, and resource constraints, this course will go beyond the basics to better understand and address urban health issues. Learn from world-renowned experts with hands-on experience in addressing urban health challenges in a highly visual and case-study-based course. Participants will get an option to enroll in 2 of the tracks available on Edx. The free audit track offers limited access or they can choose to upgrade to a paid version which is the verified track.
