If you are getting both the colleges then I will advise you to go for iiit Jabalpur. IIIT Jabalpur has been ranked higher, it has lower fees than iiit city, mechanical is an evergreen branch and so you should go for iiit Jabalpur. But again I'll say that

IIIT sri city is good in terms of palacements. While the institutes don't reveal their exact placement data, you can visit the official website or their facebook page to get placement stats.
