Hello aspirant

Yes, in 2017 IIT  Guwahati had conducted a spot round for M tech admission. This spot round is a game of luck. Many people don't come to Guwahati due to its geographical location. But there is a good chance of getting admitted in M.tech in such a scenario.

Hello student as in 3rd year switching stream is not possible in engineering college so first you need to complete your Bachelor degree in engineering at IIT in the same stream you're pursuing it. After that you need to apply for MS in your preferable university /college as each college conduct their separate entrance examination and interview to get into MS college. You can apply for GRE after completing your graduation which is for MS admission along with it you also need to appear and clear in language examination like TOEFL ILETS. please help me with your preferable college/University so that I can provide you more exam information
Feel free to comment if you have any doubt
Good luck

Hello Mallikarjun,

Students who secure scores within the IIT Guwahati GATE cutoff become eligible for admission in the institute's various programmes under M.Tech.

The cutoff is decided by admission committee of the institute by considering several factors mentioned below:

  • Total number of seats available in the institute

  • Number of applicants for admission

  • Difficulty level of the exam

  • Previous year cutoff trends for various courses and categories

  • Category for which admission is desired

As per previous years cut-offs data, the GATE cutoff for admission into IIT Guwahati is estimated to be 411 (out of 700) for candidates belonging to general category and 339 for students belonging to scheduled tribes category.

So, that means you have a good shot at successfully seeking admission into the ECE department of IIT Guwahati.

hi,

see cutoff score changes year to year and it depends on various factors like number of participants, seat matrix , the cut off score, questions difficulty level etc.

this year it is expected that cutoff score will increase slightly, so chances in iit guwahati  seems less. now you have chances for all nits.

hope it would help.

Admission is done on the basis of cutoff based on your rank(which depends on your marks) in jee advanced.

The cutooff for year 2018 had opening rank 35 and closing rank 122.

The parameters considered while deciding the JEE Advanced 2019 IIT Guwahati cutoff:

  1. Total no of students
  2. Previous year cutoff
  3. Total number of seats available
  4. Difficulty level of the exam

With this you can get an idea of your chances for admission in iit guwahati.

Hope this helped.
