Course Overview

According to scientific estimates, the world population will cross 10 billion by the middle of the century. There is a growing demand for food and energy, but the supply cannot match it. For this purpose, the process of metabolic engineering of bioproduction can be helpful to produce essential nutrients for survival. This is what the Metabolic Engineering online course explores.

The candidates will use the Design, Build, Test, Learn techniques to design and create metabolic pathways suitable for the production of a specific product. Professor Pinkari Sar and Professor Amit Ghosh from IIT Kharagpur will teach candidates the basic concepts, scope, and applications of metabolic engineering in the Metabolic Engineering training.

The Metabolic Engineering certification course also offers a hands-on approach to improving learning. Candidates will be working on MATLAB to construct metabolic pathways and networks. Also, candidates will receive eight assignments throughout the course, and the course instructors will grade these assessments. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have basic knowledge of Genetics, Microbiology, and Biochemistry to enrol in the Metabolic Engineering online program.

Certificate Qualifying Details

Also, candidates need to fulfill twofold Metabolic Engineering certification by Swayam, and IIT Kharagpur eligibility criteria to get certified. First, they need to score at least 10/25 marks in their internal evaluation, consisting of the average marks of the six best assignments out of eight. Second, they need to score at least 30/75 in the final exam. Their total score should be >= 40/100.
