Hey there

Nit Patna reputation is becoming good nowadays and so cuttoffs are increasing for the college but as per the previous year analysis I would say in obc your rank should be around 9000 in obc if you have state quota. For other state student your rank should be around 8000 in obc.

Check the cutoff for nit Patna

Hello aspirant,

Well between a NIT and a private engineering college, it is better to join a NIT since it is government college and the fees is also less compared to a private engineering college. Still below I have provided the required details about both the colleges -

NIT Patna :

  • National Institute of Technology, Patna is a government college and was eshtablished in the year 2004. The college campus is about 60 acres with 110 faculty people.
  • The college has been ranked at 134th positionn among engineering colleges by NIRF.
  • The facilities like boys hostel, girls hostel, gym, library, sports, wifi, medical/hospital, alumni association, convenience store, bank facilities etc.
  • As far as the placements are considered, a B.E./B.Tech gets a average package of 6 Lakhs.
  • As per the student reviews, the college is quite good.

VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad :

  • The college is a private engineering college and was eshtablished in the year 1995. The college campus is about 21 acres with 438 faculties.
  • The college is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hydearbad and has been also accredited 'A++' grade by NAAC. The college has also been ranked at 109th position among engineering colleges by NIRF.
  • The college has the facilities like boys hostel, girls hostel, gym, library, sports, wifi, cafeteria, medical/hospital,alumni association, transport etc.
  • Talking about the placements, a B.E./B.Tech student gets a average package of 3.42 Lakhs.
  • As per the reviews of the students, the college is pretty good.

Now according to me both the colleges are good in terms of infrastructure, faculty, recognition, placements, facilities etc. I would suggest that if you have interest for mechanical engineering, then NIT Patna is there or else for IT go for VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology. Now since VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology is a old college it has more experience than NIT Patna and also it is a private college so lots of facilities are avilable in the campus. Ultimately its totally upto you which college you will go to.

You can also go through the below mentioned links and checkout the details of both the colleges -

Good Luck !!!

Well, Electronics and communication stream in NIT Patna is playing quite a significant role in its areas of interest for their students . There are advanced labs with the latest infrastructure and one also gets to learn under the able guidance of respective professors and the appointed lab technician. Classes take place regularly. Placement opportunities for ECE stream are quite decent and students get to showcase their professional talent is well recognized MNCs as well.

Hey Farhan,

NIT Patna is no doubt a very good college but still IIEST Shibpur has got an upper hand instead. If we talk in terms of ranking, then IIEST takes a lead over NIT Patna and obviously the degree holds a national level importance too.

Hello aspirant!! If only one seat is left then there is very les chance of getting seat in NIT Patna in Civil Engineering branch. I wish that you get the seat. All the best!!

Placements :Placements in NITP are average.:Placements in the college are good for the CSE branch.
The highest salary package offered was 42 LPA, and this was one of the highest package offered among all NITs. The highest package offered last year was 39 LPA, and this is also one of the highest package offered among all NITs that year. Placements for the students of the core branches like civil and mechanical are average.
Some of the great companies like Reliance, Jio, Infosys, Oracle, etc., have offered jobs with handsome packages to students of various branches. Also internship opportunities are available in some reputed companies. Still branches like CSE and ECE grab good packages.

Both the colleges are good for pursuing engineering. Both the colleges are well known in  India.
The electrical department of IIEST is considered to be the best branch of this college. The placement have been good with the companies like Microsoft, samsung, Maruti Suzuki, L and T, Tata Steel etc. The new training and placement cell is formed which increases the placement in the campus.

Hello,

IIEST shibpur is ranked significantly more better than nit patna.

IIEST shibpur has a edge over nit patna over these aspects -

  • Much larger amount of research projects
  • More faculty with phd
  • Very descent placements of about 6 lakhs per year
  • Far better consultancy projects
  • Highly specialised labs and research centres like SAIF, CEGESS etc
  • No ragging, free wi fi
  • More prominent infrastructure.

IIEST is more better choice to go with.

Hope this helped.

Good luck
