If in the choice filling hierarchy, you have applied for NIT SIKKIM CSE before NIT PATNA ECE , then there are chances of getting it in consecutive rounds of seat allocation after you have applied for the float option, else not.

Talking about NIT Nagpur, placements for metallurgical students are decent whereasThe placements are good for the mechanical engineering department. About 95% of the students from this branch got placed. The highest package offered was 17.3 LPA, the average package offered was 6.57 LPA, and the minimum package offered was 3 LPA.

Placement at NIT Patna for mechanical branch last year, where 65% to 70% of the students got placed from our college. Almost 90% of students get placed every year, especially from the computer science branch. This year, the highest salary package offered was 10.50 LPA for the students of ME. The average salary package offered was 7.50 LPA. But some of the CSE students got really high salary packages last year and this year also.

Yes NIT Patna offers integrated MSc in physics, chemistry and mathematics. In the first year all the Msc students and the Btech students have the same curriculum and after first year based on your CGPA your branch can be changed so work hard and change your branch.

Well for the first part of the question, I have to tell you that your rank is very high and hence your prospects of getting mechanical engineering or civil engineering branch is highly unlikely so do not think about that.

For the second part of the question, all of the IIITs only have all india quota unlike the NITs so they question itself becomes invalid.

No, there are no reserved seats in NIT Patna for the Bihar Combined Entrance Examination. NIT Patna is an autonomous institute which comes directly under MHRD and it has nothing to do with the state governement. The admission for undergraduate programs is done in NIT Patna solely on the basis of JOSAA counselling which takes admission through JEE MAIN score.

Well to answer the first part of your question, Bihar College of Engineering does not take admission on the basis of JEE MAIN.

For the second part of the question, again no!

You will not get admission in NIT Patna in any of the four year or five year program on your rank.

Well even with the home state quota it would be a little difficult to get NIT Patna for you even in the lower branches of Civil Engineering however you might get the integrated MSc programs run by NIT Patna in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the cut-off for these programs is very low. Well your percentile seems quite low and I don't think that you might have been alloted a seat in the first round of JOSAA in NIT Patna. Don't know if you are from home state quota or not but still that might not be of much help. The cut-off for NIT Patna is only going to go up because of it's recent developments in infrastructure and curriculum so if I were you, I wouldn't be sure about getting a seat.
