As compared to IIIT Lucknow, the department of CSE NIT Patna is much better, the reasons are-

It's new and being mentored by another college; IIIT Allahabad.

Placement of above 6 lakhs is guaranteed for a student of skill level above average at NIT Patna, companies like Amazon, Microsoft

I would suggest you to go for VIT in the branch Electrical Engineering or if you can get other branches like Electronics and communication engineering and computer science, it would be even better. But this is assuming you do not have particular interest in any field.
