Hi Ankit!

First of all, congratulations for clearing JEE Mains, hard work pays off!!

NIT Rourkela is considered among one of the top institutions for engineering. It has all the facilities such as digital classrooms, library, sports, internet, hostel, well-equipped labs etc. Faculty members are also master in their subjects. Placement record is around 90-95% in the top recruiting companies such as oracle, google, amazon, IBM, microsoft etc.

As you mentioned that you have 2 years academic gap now, many companies open the window for students having upto 2 years academic gap means you will not face any trouble while sitting for placement. But during interview you might be asked about this academic gap so just be prepared with the honest answers for their questions.

Thankyou!

Hi Dear you have good chance to get a seat because as per your quata all the best for your future

Hello,

According to NIRF ranking, NIT Rourkela is good as compare to DTU.

DTU is one of the prestigious university but various statics shows NIT Rourkela is one of the best engineering college of the Country  with advanced lab facilities, mind blowing campus placements, NIT Rourkela has a great club and social culture.

Hope this helps

Thank you.

Hello Aspirant,

If we go through the analysis of marks Vs Percentile Vs rank for JEE-Main 2020 then according to the percentile mentioned by you in the question your CRL rank is expected to be in the range of 153450 - 172500 , you can check out marks Vs ranks Vs Percentile from the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile

Or

You can also use JEE-Main Rank Predictor to predict your rank :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

As we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2020 of JOSAA 6th round then it shows that :-

Closing ST rank for NIT Rourkela was :-

  • Civil Engineering branch - 2145 (Home state quota)
  • Civil Engineering branch - 744 (Other state quota)

And your ST rank is expected to be around 7000-8000

So you have quite low or almost no chances to get NIT Rourkela with Civil engineering branch even if you have Home state quota.

But yes if you improve your percentile in any further session of JEE-Main like around 91+ then you might have a shot at NIT Rourkela with Civil branch.

You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

Each branch has its own cutoffs; read this article to know more about NIT-R cutoffs:- https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-nit-rourkela

Good Luck!

Hi there,

Master of Science(Chemistry) is a two-year postgraduate course that offers deep knowledge in the field of chemistry. Coming to your point of comparison between two different NIT's.

See, I would suggest you go with the NIT tricky because it has amazing placement and good academic with campus life. However, I am mentioning both of these colleges solely.

NIT Trichy

  • Establishment year: 1961
  • Offers 10 specialisations in M.Sc
  • Less fees as compared to NIT Rourkela
  • Exams Accepted: IIT JAM, CCMN
  • Good placement ratio with a median salary

NIT Rourkela

  • Established year: 1964
  • Offers 13 specializations in M.Sc
  • Comparatively highest fees structure for two years.
  • Exams Accepted: IIT JAM, CCMN
  • Good placement ratio.

The AAverage salary offered in NIT Trichy is equal to 6.40LPA while in the case of NIT Rourkela it is equal to 6.10 LPA.

After all, everything depends upon the rank secured by the candidate in the main exams.

Thank you!!

All the best !

Dear aspirant,

As you have mentioned that you want to know about the minimum score required in jee to clear vssut burla. So let me tell you that the admission is done through ojee counselling.

So, as per my knowledge the cut off for cse branch usually stays under 40k-50k and the cut off for core branches generally stays below 70k but it depends on certain conditions like number of candidates applying for counselling.

Hello,

Yes MTech from NIT Rourkela is a really good option. The Ceramic Engineering Department at NIT Rourkela specializes in the development of both traditional and advanced ceramics. There is a very low opportunity for placements. However since you have applied for MTech programme which means you might be interested in research a lot, so there is a really great opportunity for excellent Study & Research environment because research is given much priority in NIT Rourkela. Also M.Tech students can study in the labs anytime they want because labs are open for them on all days(24X7).

For information on NIT Rourkela Ceramics Engineering refer the link below,

Hope this helps.

Good luck!!!

NIT TRICHY CHEMICAL: Faculty in NIT Trichy is excellent. Core subjects of Chemical Engineering like Process Dynamics, Reaction Engineering, Mass Transfer and Equipment Design have a really good faculty circle. It is everywhere, there are a few bad teachers too.

Most of the labs present fall just above the average standards as compared to top universities across India. The lab assistants are knowledgeable and student-friendly, and if you’re part of a team working on a project, there are sufficient facilities present to get the job done. Internship opportunities are also awesome here. In the Chemical Engineering department  only 60–70% apply for placements. So far, the department has managed to have over 95% placement rate, with all the applied students being placed in one company or the other in the academic year 2018. Keep in mind that good institutes like NIT Trichy, allow all branch students to sit in Tech company placements. You will get opportunities in surplus.

NIT WARANGAL CHEMICAL: Faculty, Crowd and Infrastructure is good here also. Students of Chemical engineering are placed in core companies but their average package is 6-8 lakhs. So, chemical students here prepare for tech companies in their free time as tech companies offer very high packages in NIT Warangal.

NIT ROURKELA ELECTRICAL: There will be a good chance that you get placed. Students are allowed to sit for core, analytics and software profiles. You will get many job opportunities. So you need not worry about placements.Teachers in the department are not very student friendly. Unlike any other department in NITR you will have to work a lot harder to achieve good grades. However, placements of CSE and ECE are much better than electrical engineering. This is not only this college thing. Faculty in electrical, getting marks in electrical is difficult in all colleges. Placement opportunities are good in electrical engineering at NITR.

In short, all three NITs are good in faculty, infrastructure and placement opportunities. It all depends on the student's interest and student’s performance in college which will decide your future. In my opinion, NIT Trichy chemical is better than NIT Warangal Chemical. However, the branch is totally different in NITR, so it's up to you which college or branch you want to pursue. If you are least interested in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, then go with NITR Electrical Engineering.

Hope, it helps!
