B.Tech Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2028-01-01
Academics
I have opted for mechanical engineering. And this is because this branch has a huge opportunity for future studies and also in research field.
The curriculum is not up to date and doesn't include recent developments.
College Infra
Yes, the College of all the necessary infrastructure facilities and equipment required.
The classrooms are well equipped with air conditioners and digital smart boards.
The laboratories has a wide range of books and journals available, which is available in both digital and physical mode.
The The living spaces is clean and the food is hygienic.
Campus Life
The campus life is very good. And the best features is that there is no restriction in the moment of boys and girls. And also, the vast library present.
Students mostly engage in studies.
The worst feature is that there is poor Internet connectivity.
Placements
The placement quality at my college is very good
Almost all the students sitting for placement are getting placed. And the highest salary package was 33 lakhs
The average salary offered was about thirteen lakhs.
Value For Money
The course fees for one year is about 120000. This is only tution fees.
I do think that the money I have spent is worth it. This is because of placement statistics are very good. Also, the average package offered is decent.

I am persuing Btech in Civil engineeering. The Curriculum is very strict and relevant to govt exams lke GATE,ESE etc.
apart from that some extra skills like autocad,excel needed to be learned.At least a GPA 8.5 needed to be maintained
College Infra
our college is having a vast campus of 1200 acres , and 8 hostels (SD,GDB,DBA.MSS,SSB,KMS,KMS annexe,CVR) . out of this last 3 are girls hostel and SSB is married hall.
rest are boys hostel. There is a central pure veg mess also where onion garlic are also not allowed
Campus Life
Campus life is very good. We are having 4 societies and 70 clubs almost. We have mainly fests in a year they are cosmo(cultural fest),innovision(tech fest),Vriddhi(sports fest),Nitrutsav(cultural fest)
Placements
MY college last year had highest placement of 1.2 Cr from EI branch . average package of 14 LPA and median 12 LPA . Software and IT fields offer a bit higher paying jobs as compared to core companies.
Value For Money
Our college fee structure is almost 1,11,500 per semester .But if you belong to sc/st category or low income group (below 1 lakh) then tuition fee of 62500 is exempted and only you have to pay
49000.

Good Morning,
NIT Rourkela CAT cutoff range is between 70-85 percentiles for the general category. 70 is the minimum percentile needed to apply, and 85 is the highest percentile. However, the maximum percentile depends on the particular year competition. It can be changed.

With 99 percentiles in JEE Main and OBC-NCL category under Odisha home state quota, your chances for CS at NIT Rourkela are quite low CS cutoff usually stays around 99.6–99.8 percentile for OBC candidates.
However, you may get other good branches like EEE, Mechanical, or Civil in NIT Rourkela,
