Following below is the set of criteria which are needed to be fulfilled in order to get benefits of state quota reservation during the counseling process:

• The student should be a native citizen of that particular state having a authenticate proof of it.
• The student must have completed his secondary or higher secondary education from a institution in the state which is also recognized by the government.
• Parents must be working in any government or private institution for at least seven years in that particular state.

Since you fulfill one of the mentioned criteria, you shall be eligible  for admission in NIT Rourkela through state quota.

You did not mention your domicile state. NITs have home state quota reservation.

To get CSE branch in NIT, Rourkela under other state quota (General category), you should try to score more than 200 marks and your rank should be under 5000 in JEE Main.

As you have secured 586 in PWD category so let me tell you the cut off for the PWD category totally depends on certain factors like number of PWD candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.

Yeah! Most of the companies allow from other branches to sit for the placement. So if you are in ECE at NIT Warangal then you can obviously sit for companies which are CSE/IT based, provided you must have the knowledge of coding and the skill of problem solving through coding.

Now NIT Warangal have a better placements than NIT Rourkela. But if you are interested in CSE then you should go for NIT Rourkella. See the interest is the key, if you study a subject which you are enthusiastic about you will get the opportunity to get satisfied in future.

The placement stats for overall NIT Rourkela is good. However , Branch wise details is not provided by NIT Rourkela so in order to know about placement statistics of Electronics and Instrumentation branch, we have to ask for students of NIT Rourkela. As per details provided by students in various online forum, Around 70-80 percentage of students get placed from EI branch. The Highest package was around 21 Lakh this year while Average package hover in the range of 5-6 Lakh. The lowest package was in the range of 4 lakh. Overall , The placement for Electrical and Instrumentation branch is good in NIT Rourkela.
